We've been thinking about how to rate villains 🤔.
There's a trend in movies and shows of blurring good and evil: the bad guy turns out to be "just misunderstood," or a victim himself. But the line is sometimes blurry about when it's just backstory versus woke empathy.
This is how we are currently thinking about it:
Not woke: a villain with a backstory
Michael Corleone (The Godfather) , Walter White (Breaking Bad), Darth Vader (Star Wars). You understand how they got there, but the story never pretends it's okay. Evil is clearly shown as the wrong choice that cost them everything.
Woke: a villain with an excuse
Joker: society failed him, so the violence is society's fault.
Maleficent: the villain was the real victim, and the king was the monster.
Cruella: the woman who wanted to skin puppies gets rebranded as a misunderstood rebel.
We've decided to start counting that in our scoring under cultural critique.

If by chance a Protestant archeologist discovered Tertius’ reed pen that was used when he scribed the original letter to the Romans as St Paul dictated it to him, why would or why would not Protestants today mind me treating it as inconsequential and using it for something trivial as kindling to light a fire in my fireplace?

All of life comes down to one thing, and one thing only:
Hearing “well done, good and faithful servant” at the end of your life from Jesus Christ.
Literally every endeavor, every accomplishment, every achievement, every honor apart from those six words is meaningless.
Good advice, but remember that in the case of mortal sin you need sacramental confession before receiving Holy Communion.
Confession Before Every Communion……Let me Be Perfectly Clear About this…..it really is quite simple….it is almost impossible to visit a priest for Confession before every Holy Communion+!!! However, I suggest strongly, every night before you go to bed, examine your conscience and Ask Jesus to forgive you from your sins+!!! Then, before Mass & Holy Communion….Once Again Tell Jesus How Sorry You are for Your Sins…All of Them…then You are Properly Covered+!!!
Sorrow for your sins is a wonderful way to show Jesus, how very much you love Him+!!!

If Jesus Christ is the Messiah, then it is not the Catholic Church, but the Rabbis who have engaged in “replacement theology”: attempting to replace the religion of Moses—now complete and fulfilled in Christ for Jew and Gentile alike—with their own man-made substitute.
If Jesus Christ is not the Messiah, then the Catholic religion is based on a totally fraudulent “replacement” of the Old Testament religion. It is a lie.
There is no getting out of this. It is one or the other.
