This is what I believe. Pope Leo is my quarterback. I play for his team. The team chosen by Jesus Christ. I won’t quit on Pope Leo because I think I know how to run the Church better than the Successor of St. Peter. I aspire to the best teammate I can.

NIGERIA 🇳🇬
Bishop Wilfred Chikpa Anagbe has CONDEMNED the Nigerian government for their inaction over the slaughter of Christians:
'If the government wants this problem to stop, it can stop. Nigeria is capable of handling this issue, but they are not willing to do so. It is not that they lack the capacity; they lack the willingness'

"1 of the secrets of evangelisation is to resemble the 1 whom we proclaim." -Pope Leo XIV
Pope Leo XIV to the bishops, priests and religious of Uruguay, on how to re-evangelise the once Catholic, now secular country, encouraging days of prayer and fasting for an increase in vocations to the priesthood:
“Dear brothers and sisters, one of the secrets of evangelisation is to resemble the one whom we proclaim. In this land, where many of our contemporaries barely know Jesus Christ, and so many young people have grown up far from the life of the church, that witness has a special power.
The way we look at others, the way we listen or the way we reach out to those who suffer, prompt them to ask about the origins of that love. When we speak to them of Jesus, may they discover the very Lord whose goodness they have begun to experience through us despite our poverty.
That desire for others to come to know and follow Jesus has also been expressed in prayer for vocations. When the interdiocesan seminary received no new candidates in 2024, many of the faithful began to come together for days of prayer and fasting to ask the Lord to send workers into his harvest.
Since then, they have persevered in their efforts to order in order that others might hear his call. Today, we give thanks because several young people, who are seated among us, have begun their journey in the seminary and in consecrated life.
What a joy it is to know that generous responses to Christ's love continue to come forward. I offer heartfold things to those who have supported this initiative and I encourage them to persevere.
See, in these fruits, the proof that God hears the prayers of His people. I hope that this experience in Uruguay will echo throughout the entire Church.
I invite my brother bishops throughout the world to promote days of prayer and fasting in their dioceses for an increase in vocations to the priesthood and to consecrated life. May parishes, families and religious communities unite in this prayer. May the example of this land inspire many others to pray with the same confidence.”

🚨 Pope Leo has CONDEMNED abortion at his opening speech in Uruguay:
'The unborn already belong to the human family and to the future of their people. Their absolute dependence on their mother does not diminish the dignity to which they are entitled or the protection they deserve'

Pope Leo saying why pray for the dead. Because we don’t just stop being connected to them after death. Being united in Christ means something *real*, and death doesn’t get to defeat that - especially after Christ already defeated death

Today, I give thanks to God and to my mom and dad for receiving the sacrament of Baptism, as an infant at St. Charles Borromeo parish in the Archdiocese of Toronto.
This is one of the most consequential decisions my parents made for my salvation.
Happy baptism day to me 😊

Please pray for me, I have a job interview tomorrow, and I am really hoping it goes well. The way I have been paid over the last two years has been much lower than other people in my same position, and financial stress that so negatively impacted my health

I just received a letter from a friend of mine who I was in prison with. He's serving a sentence of 20 years to life, and he has to appear before the parole board. He's only six years into his sentence.
He told me that he's been praying, staying in the Word, and that the Lord has been using him to bring others to Christ. Right now, he's reading through both the Old and New Testaments. He's currently in the book of Joshua in the Old Testament and the book of Acts in the New Testament.
He says he's trying to hold on, keep going, keep believing, and continue walking with the Lord.
I would ask you all to please keep Jalen in your prayers. He's a good guy, and I'm glad to hear from him. He just got caught up in the wrong place at the wrong time.
I wrote him a letter about a month and a half ago, and he's just now writing me back. I'm grateful to have heard from him.
The Bible reminds us:
"Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body."
Hebrews 13:3

🇺🇸 Today, I had the privilege and the joy of accompanying #BobDylan to meet Pope Leo, together with Andrea Monda. It was hard not to feel the emotion of being part of an encounter that had a real sense of history about it, with the feeling that, at every step through the Apostolic Palace, absolutely anything could happen! Carlo Feltrinelli and Susan Pullman were also with us. On July 31, Pope Leo had met with Patti Smith. I’m writing about it in L’Osservatore Romano.

I will never abide by Sharia Law.
I’m a Jew and child of Western values—Judeo-Christian values.
And I’ll never stop fighting to protect those freedoms.
I’ve already lost almost everything for doing just that.
Nothing they do can take away my spirit. They only intensify it.

Catholic Priest Burnt Inside His Car.
Fr. David Tanko of the Diocese of Jalingo was killed in Taraba State in late August 2019.
Ordained in 2008, he was traveling toward a peace meeting aimed at easing tensions between the Tiv and Jukun communities when he was ambushed in the Kufai Amadu area of Takum. Attackers killed him and set both his body and vehicle on fire, leaving him burned beyond recognition.
Local residents who witnessed the attack later described him as a servant of the Church who gave his life while trying to promote reconciliation. In the years since, his death has been remembered alongside those of other Nigerian priests killed amid the country’s ongoing insecurity, with many continuing to pray for the repose of his soul and for greater protection for clergy and communities still facing violence.
May he rest in peace.
