DevOps Engineer by day and Software Developer by night. I love Python’s expressiveness and GoLang’s simplicity.

AI didn't kill software engineering. it just moved the bugs to places we don't understand 💀

Safari 27 now has an MCP server for web development. So Codex/Claude/etc can inspect the actual DOM, network requests, console output and screenshots from Safari instead of you trying to describe what broke💪

I Replaced 15 Go Packages With Nothing But the Standard Library — Here's What It Actually Took dev.to/moin08s/i-replaced-15… < all those other libraries exist for a reason, but @golang has an excellent standard library that can do a heck of a lot

As I walked off stage after my talk, I got pulled aside by a young CS grad who needed advice. What he said broke my heart. "I'm using the AI tools, just like you said. But it changes so fast. I don't know how much longer I can keep doing this. I'm so tired. I feel sick." He'd accepted that AI fluency is now expected to land a job. So he was trying to learn everything. Ralph loops, OpenClaw, graph engineering. Before he could finish learning the current thing, something new would drop. Here's the thing: he's right that AI fluency is expected now. But fluency doesn't mean chasing every release. I stopped him and repeated what I'd said on stage minutes earlier: "You're not behind. You won't be behind if you skip this month's releases, and you won't be behind six months from now either." Most of what's hyped today will be gone or unrecognizable by next quarter. So my advice to him: look at what was hyped six months or a year ago and is still standing. Then ask three questions. Is there a business case? Are companies actually adopting it? Are developers I trust using it? The market moves slower than your feed does. Let the early adopters test every new toy. Learn what survives. I sat down over coffee with @TasonJorres from JetBrains at the @CommitYourCode conference to talk about exactly this: the skill of ignoring things, and what it costs you. Watching an incredibly cool demo of a real-time, multi-player app that uses no web sockets, no SSE, and no JavaScript. Just some htmx, along with a content header nobody’s ever heard of from the 90’s @scriptogre is next-level

My family is donating another $400,000 to the Zig Software Foundation. Zig is exceptional software. I use AI every day. Zig has one of the strongest anti-AI policies in open source. We disagree on some things, but respect doesn’t require agreement. mitchellh.com/writing/zig-do…

Europeans please wake up.
The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees. The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance. Access to all other Claude models is not affected. We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible. Read our full statement: anthropic.com/news/fable-myt…

I swear we didn't plan this, but just today, we finally NUKED our entire AWS account at the 37signals company meetup! This followed moving out compute+dbs in 2023, then S3 this summer, and now finally the entire account is GONE 🎉
