On Aug. 28, 2024, Gensler sent a Wells notice to @opensea saying he views these artworks as securities. xitter.cf/dfinzer/status/1828791… If Gary isn’t stopped, thousands of artists who make a living from NFTs will no longer be able to support their families. That includes artists you and I love and support. It may even include you. Mark my words: If Gary gets what he wants, digital art ends as we know it. And if NFTs are securities, then what's next? Beanie Babies? Baseball cards? The funny thing is, only a short while ago, Gary said most tokens were not securities. Now, he carries the water for corrupt bankers and politicians threatened by crypto's rise. And with this latest action against NFTs, he is doubling down against crypto art.
