Two Kenosha brothers who paid $1,000 each for a Milwaukee Brewers "Timeless Ticket" more than a decade ago say the team isn't fully honoring the promise that came with it — the chance to sit in the best available seats for a game as big as the World Series. More at the link in o

Eager to hop a plane tomorrow to present at this conference a health insurance affordability effort that @cobrown and @bluegrasspolicy are bringing to Kentucky. (Special treat: presenting alongside former Cato colleagues Brittany La Couture and Trisha Singh.)
If you work in healthcare economics, public policy, political science, or related fields, we want to hear from you. The Consumer Choice Center and King's College London are joining forces for the 1st Health Economics Symposium. A 2-day global forum on the governance roots of the US healthcare crisis. Kentucky's 2026 assessment and accountability results are out, and I already talked about a major concern with SAT testing. So, how about results from the Kentucky Summative Assessments. I added 2026 results to slides KDE used last year to report on the 2025 results. The first two are for elementary school reading. As you can see, there were small increases in scores, but even if we are talking about white students, scarcely more than one in two was proficient in reading in 2026, and the numbers are a lot worse for the minorities.

Whitey sounds *especially* dated, but I swear it was the 1980s.
Age yourself by naming the manager of your favorite team when you became a fan.

Maybe this explains why so many LA-area #Brewers fans were able to get tickets. #NLCS

Another good reminder that the antitrust crusade against tech companies was always just about opening the door to micromanaging the rest of the economy.
Hellmann's mayo McCormick spices Cholula hot sauce Frank's RedHot What do these products have in common? One company could soon control them all. I have concerns that McCormick and Unilever's $45 billion merger could increase YOUR grocery prices.

I thought I really enjoyed #SadMetsFans back in 2006, but #IncredulousDodgersFans might be even better.

It's crazy that there's a tool out there that's become vital to they way I do my job, parent my kids, and make major life decisions; and yet we barely spend more on it than AI
TIL that global spending on alcohol is still larger than AI infrastructure spending this year ($1.7T vs $1.5T)
