This Otis elevator at the Biltmore house in NC was built 125 years ago in 1895. It still runs on the original motor, and Otis still maintains it. Talk about building a lasting business.

Just got fired from Apple. I was the guy who designed the AirPods to shoot out of the case at high speeds whenever you drop it.

That moment when your odometer says 26 miles of gas left in the tank and the map says it’s 26 miles to your destination and you wonder which one is right

Guys, Claude/CGPT/Etc. are losing you deals. It is like having the most risk-averse lawyer who sees everything wrong. I am seeing a lot of overly aggressive AI-generated negotiations that flag small issues as major issues and encourage you to take the most aggressive positions.

Checking out the Los Angeles startup scene last week and there are some great networks and people building legit things. Anywhere from drone automation to protect crops, to a startup turning air to water and reducing data center energy costs.

One of the most ironic things that happens in my line of work is meeting with a founder who says, “nahh I don’t need coaching.” Then, after our 30 minute meeting they send a note that says something like, “hey thanks for that free tip you gave, it saved me X headache or made me $X.” And they still don’t think they’d benefit from coaching.

One of my clients had $7 million in revenue last year. Another had $1.8 million revenue. Which business would you rather own? The one with $1.8 million made 3x the profit of the $7 million business. Now which one would you rather own?

Client down in Atlanta just described ChatGPT as “it’s like having Chris Cloud follow you around in your pocket.” And I’m not sure whether to cry or laugh. Darn AI taking my job already lol
