Britain’s speech landscape has a few circles of hell that are worth note; Dante Alighieri would have blushed. It is abundantly clear why someone would operate pseudonymously in a country that is a complete stranger to the Freedom of Speech, I outline those circles of speech-hell here: 1) The Criminal law: Our most famous, is the realm of Criminal speech – here lies the Public Order Act (s.4 onward), Communications Act & OSA offences. It carries penalties ranging from depravation of liberty (as with Connolly, Wayne O’Roarke, G Linehan), to life altering fines. It is frequently exploited by activists. 2) Regulatory & Employment law: Below it lies the lesser known realm of professional regulation, with around 60 regulated professions - regulators hungrily venture into the private lives and out-of-work speech of professionals, looking to leverage the middle class into silence. For those not in a profession, your HR department functions as a micro-regulator - the tribunals will agree with them, and the FSU will often not touch anything besides an easy win (in terms of PR and law). The state of the law is not kind to their mission - given our lack of meaningful legislative protection - your speech is not protected. This eye of Sauron covers everything from MPs to unskilled care workers - our entire institutional landscape. A calculated political foe can use this against you to inconvenience your professional life and means of generating a living – the protocol of professional regulation, and the employment tribunal, will likely even thank them. 3) The final layer of this inferno; smear, calculated ostracism (defamation) and loss of opportunity. Often called cancel culture - but it is worse than that. Here lies the realm of betrayal and exploitation of the British convention of squeamishness toward any deviation from the mean. It includes, doxxing & outsourcing of harm to the mob. It is the special-interest activity of plainly partisan NGOs such as Hope Not Hate & professional activists, typically with nothing to lose themselves. It sits outside of most legal remedy available to the Englishman (defamation suits can run to 6 figures with ease in complex instances, and the Englishman is categorically a poor man now). This is why only those with tepid beliefs are able to speak without consequence, and, are invited into the limelight. The demons who who exploit this legal framework to dispose of the courageous, and exploit the natural squeamishness of the British public in doing so, would gladly kill you if they could do so and get away with it.
Why do so many ethno-obsessives on this site operate under fake names? I mean, if they really believed their arguments were mainstream and respectable, why wouldn't they post under their own names? Could it be that they know deep down that their views are seen as extreme by the real mainstream?

Former England captain Kevin Pietersen has written a striking piece on the India he’s watched change since 2003. Three things stood out to me: 1. The sporting depth (athletes + women’s cricket) 2. Yoga going global via Fit India 3. Serious wildlife work (cheetahs, lions, Big Cat Alliance) Worth reading. Good governance of Modi ji on improving sports facilities, which the world is noticing!

Man United with one of the worst ownership combos: American capitalists piling debt onto the club and a right-wing British billionaire out of his depth.
Lots of chanting against Glazers and Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

Look at what Arteta got after finishing 5th, look at what Klopp got after finishing in the top 4 with Liverpool, & look at what Carrick got in today's market after finishing 3rd. Clueless on what the future holds. Thank you to the fans at OT for staying up for Carrick! #Mufc #PL

It is a basic principle of American democracy that the government can’t selectively target individuals simply because of their political beliefs or what they say. But that’s exactly what the Trump Administration is doing to Congresswoman Ilhan Omar of Minnesota. To understand why this is so appalling, it’s important to know the facts. Congresswoman Omar came to this country with her father when she was 12 years old. Five years later, her father became a naturalized citizen. If Ilhan had been 18 at the time, she would have had to apply for citizenship separately. But because she was 17, she became a naturalized citizen automatically. Congresswoman Omar went on to graduate from college, work as a community organizer, become the first Somali-American legislator elected to public office in the U.S., and win a seat in Congress. There, she has been one of the Trump Administration’s fiercest critics, which has led the president to repeatedly single her out as someone who he believes does not belong in this country. Now the Administration is actively trying to deport Congresswoman Omar, seemingly based solely on the unsubstantiated theory that she was actually 18 when her father was naturalized, and therefore is not a citizen. Federal agents have raided her home, confiscated personal records, and seized her phone — all to try and uncover a nonexistent smoking gun from 20 years ago that will somehow make their case. Think about that. The full weight of the federal government is being brought down on a law-abiding elected official because she has dared to criticize the president. And it’s not the first time this has happened. Under President Trump, the Justice Department has repeatedly gone after those he considers his political enemies — from the Attorney General of New York, to the former head of the FBI, to members of the Federal Reserve. In those cases, the prosecutions either stalled or were dismissed for having no basis in law, and the same is likely to happen in this case. But not before Congresswoman Omar’s life has been turned upside down, her legal bills have piled up, and she’s been forced to spend time fighting unsubstantiated charges instead of serving the people of Minnesota. The fact that any president, or any administration, is willing to engage in such transparent efforts to intimidate someone should outrage all Americans, regardless of how they feel about Congresswoman Omar’s political views. Because if this becomes the new normal, there’s no reason to believe it will stop with her — or that future presidents, in either party, won’t do the same.

🚨 In March 2022, just weeks after Putin invaded Ukraine, Britain’s former defence attache in Moscow wrote an extraordinary letter. Air Commodore Carl Scott said that while serving in Moscow from 2011–2016, Britain repeatedly reported the direction Putin was taking: massive rearmament, militarisation of society, propaganda, repression and preparation for conflict. 👀 The warnings were there. 🔥 And this is the line that should still haunt British politics: “Our withdrawal from the EU… greatly emboldened those in Moscow.” Scott also condemned Britain’s willingness to accommodate Russian wealth, describing London as a safe haven for “corrupt, and corrupting, wealth”. Brexit fractured one of Putin’s principal strategic adversaries, weakened Britain’s influence in Europe and, according to a man who had watched the Kremlin at close quarters, emboldened Moscow. ✅ We were warned about Putin. ✔️ We were warned about Russian money. ☑️ And we were warned about what weakening European unity would mean. The question Britain still hasn’t properly confronted is: why did we refuse to listen?
Extraordinary letter in @ft from former UK defence attaché at Moscow embassy - we warned you about Putin but you listened to the City instead

Watching Elon Musk this week has been a fascinating character study in the saviour complex of Western tech billionaires. They arrive in your country selling you the future. Welcome them, and you’re a country that wants progress. Make them wait, and suddenly your people are victims who need rescuing from their own institutions by the chosen one. It’s a pattern. When Thai rescuers didn’t use the mini-submarine Musk sent for the trapped boys, and diver Vernon Unsworth called the idea impractical, Musk attacked him as the “pedo guy.” When Brazil’s Supreme Court ordered X to comply with its rulings, Musk called the judge a “dictator.” The script rarely changes. Only the country does. The colonial mindset isn’t always about wanting to rule a country. Sometimes it’s the assumption that you arrive as its saviour, and if the country doesn’t immediately recognise you as one, something must be wrong with the country.

Ukraine used 47,000 Starlink internet terminals during its war with Russia Soldiers used them to fly drones, share targets, and talk to each other on battlefield. In 2022, Elon Musk personally decided not to turn on Starlink near Crimea because he feared nuclear war. Ukrainian underwater drones heading to attack Russian ships lost internet mid way and failed. Pentagon then started buying terminals directly so Musk could not switch off service on his own. One private businessman had power to decide what military operations could happen After protests in Iran, American government secretly sent 6,000 Starlink terminals into country. Over 100,000 people inside Iran used Starlink to access internet even though government shut down all normal connections. Iran made it illegal to own or use Starlink. If caught using it for spying, punishment is death. For personal use, punishment includes flogging and up to 2 years in prison. In India, army found Starlink terminal with weapons belonging to militant groups in Manipur in December 2024. Starlink connects directly to satellites, so governments cannot block it easily India has not allowed Starlink to launch because of security concerns. Ministry of Home Affairs studied what happened in Iran, where terminals worked without government approval and bypassed all internet controls. India wants guarantees that Starlink coverage over its territory cannot be switched on or off from United States based on American political decisions. SpaceX agreed to store Indian user data locally and allow government audits. But bigger worry is that during any future conflict, satellite internet controlled by foreign company could bypass Indian communication controls without permission First Try in China :)
Unfortunately, we are being blocked by certain oligarchs in order to maintain their monopolistic chokehold on the Indian people. You can guess who they are … This is a crime against the people of India!

We commonly see patients who are treated in emergency departments and who are then referred for physiotherapy at the same hospital. Only to have their referral rejected because they live “out of area”. This isn’t good for the patient, their general practice or NHS efficiency.
