When people come up to me and ask what I do for a living, I tell them I'm an editor who works for the @csgazette.
In reality, though, I should say this: I make a living telling the truth, and so do my coworkers.
It's amazing how so many people fall for the slanted lies of many accounts on this app. How some have resorted to blatent falsehoods and lies just for the sake of getting clicks and padding their pocketbook.
Me? I've never made a lot of money. Probably never will. But I'll never stop believing that what I do, and what my coworkers do, makes a positive difference in people's lives, and I'll continue to believe that until the day I die.

NEW: A federal judge in California has paused the acquisition of 9NEWS (previously owned by TEGNA) by Nexstar, which owns FOX31.
The restraining order blocks Nexstar from combining stations or terminating employees of TEGNA in the next 14 days. A hearing is scheduled for Tuesday

The lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado, claims that Colorado law violates the free exercise clause of the First Amendment in the U.S. Constitution by prohibiting any public funding toward religious schools.

Huh. That’s interesting… especially since we wrote a story in our paper saying that Colorado GAINED 24,000 people for this period.
It also said U-Haul surveyed Colorado as the 23rd most popular state to move to, up from 40th the previous year.

What's going on in Colorado?
The state, normally a migration powerhouse, has fallen off a cliff the last four years.
And in 2025, over 12,000 Americans left Colorado.
The biggest outmigration in the state's history according to US Census Bureau Population Estimates.
Normally, over the last 35 years, Colorado adds about 30,000 people per year. So a -12,000 reading on domestic migration is shocking.
Higher housing costs, return to office mandates, and increases in crime are causing the exodus.

Fire Info:
-CSFD was dispatched at 2:43pm to a fire at Beacon Building Products
-While responding Engine 6 called a working structure fire due to the amount of smoke
-Upon arrival, at 2:48pm, Engine 6 was met with a pile of styrofoam and other building materials on fire
-A second alarm was ordered due to the size of fire and the need for additional resources
-Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the pile, there was no fire damage to any buildings nearby
-The bulk of the fire has been knocked down, heavy equipment is being brought in to remove materials to get to the bottom of the pile to ensure the fire is completely out
-No injuries reported
-Cause is under investigation

Denver is best sports city in country now with Avalanche, Nuggets and Broncos. No city has ever won 3 championships in same calendar year. Detroit won 3 in 1935-36. Denver could do in 2026 with Super Bowl, Stanley Cup and NBA Finals.
Off the top of my head, the only other time Denver may have had this was in the 80s when John Elway was with the Broncos and Alex English was with the Nuggets. But the Avs, at the time, were still in Quebec.

Fun fact: Charlie Jones was the TV play-by-play guy for the Colorado #Rockies on KWGN for the first three seasons of their existence.
