Crews on scene report heavy fire and smoke coming from the garage.
Please avoid the area.
#UPDATE: Fire is out. Three people were treated for injuries. One person was treated and released on scene, one was taken to the hospital with minor burns and smoke inhalation, one was taken to the hospital in critical condition with extensive burns.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
25 years ago, the nation changed forever. When the call came, Colorado Springs firefighters answered.
They responded in the days after Sept. 11.
They answered again by helping build a place to remember the fallen. And years later, when firefighters began dying from cancers connected to 9/11, they answered once more.
Different calls.
Different generations.

#ColoradoSpringsFire E25, E17, R17, T8, BC4 are currently on scene of a #workingfire at 9305 Sand Myrtle Dr. E25 arrived to find a deep seated fire in the structure. The quick work by crews, with assistance from thermal cameras provided by CSFD’s drone, prevented extensive spread. The cause is under investigation and no injuries reported.
