Mike (@Mike_Eck) from our marketing team has been using Buffer as a marketer for more than 12 years. These are the analytics features he relies on every month 👇
🔌 Claude connector
Mike plans his content in Claude, pulling his Buffer data into the conversation through our MCP (it works with ChatGPT and others too). His starting prompt each month:
“Plan a month’s worth of content for my LinkedIn and Threads profiles. Start by pulling my Buffer data from the past year and tell me what’s resonating the most.”
Claude then helps him put together a rough plan for the month.
💓 Weekly Pulse
Social moves fast, so plans change. The Weekly Pulse shows how many posts he’s shared that week, how follower growth is tracking, and how much engagement he’s getting, which makes it easy to adjust on the fly.
🏷️ Tags
Mike tags every launch post when he schedules it, then filters by that tag in Insights to see how those posts performed as a group. All our Substack Notes launch posts are tagged this way, and because each launch has its own tag, he can compare launches against each other.
📊 Reports
Results only help if someone sees them. Mike exports reports to share campaign performance with our product and leadership teams, usually as a PNG snapshot since it’s the fastest way to share a win in Slack. CSV, PDF, and Markdown exports are there too.
Buffer Insights tracks follower growth, engagement, and impressions across 11 networks, and it’s available on every plan, including free.
Danny Hieber PhD (@lingdiscovery) studies how words spread: repeated in enough places, a term eventually becomes part of the language.
He grows his @substack newsletter the same way.
Each issue of Linguistic Discovery becomes dozens of posts, scheduled in Buffer over the following weeks.
