The South African government is BROKE - now they want YOUR pension! After years of corruption, mismanagement, and reckless spending, the government is eyeing pension funds to bail itself out. Instead of fixing Eskom, reducing wasteful expenditure, or holding looters accountable, they’re looking at YOUR hard-earned retirement savings as a solution. Are we as South Africans expected to trust the same politicians who’ve bankrupted SOEs and crippled the economy to “responsibly manage” pension funds? Or is this just another desperate move to kick the can down the road while citizens pay the price? Pension funds should be completely off-limits, especially to the South African Government!!

South Africa stands at a crossroads in its healthcare history. Over 1,800 junior doctors now find themselves unemployed, despite the glaring shortage of medical professionals in our public health system. This is detrimental to millions of South Africans. President Ramaphosa, we require your urgent intervention. #HealthcareCrisisSA #OpenLetter #DoctorUnemployment #JUDASA @judasaofficial @HealthZA @PresidencyZA

Health budget cuts and reductions in essential services will increase the gap between those who need care and those who receive it. Whilst there might be a medal for saving money, the burden on families and individuals will be delayed care, long-term adverse outcomes and death.
I’m at the Khayelitsha District Hospital for an unannounced visit. I want to see for myself, the quality of services being delivered to our residents. Despite the cuts to our health budget, we will continue to work everyday to do the best we can with what we have FOR YOU. 🏥
