I guessed that the tories were probably waiting for a "summer of good news" for calling a GE, inflation @ 2.3% and energy bills dropping a bit again in July is probably what they're placing their hopes on in terms of minimising the FU energy come election time as best they can

An important update… I could just type the damned thing out, but the internet gals said “bad news does better if it’s in an image”. If your keycard isn’t working, that’s how you know you’re affected.

Just wanted to broadcast this, as I know a lot of people within my communities are freelancers, and so just a note of "Hey, there might be something like this near you if you want to get out and talk to others". it's done some fair wonders for my MH over the past while
It's a spare Thursday (the 5th in the month) so thankfully our friends at @doesliverpool have stepped up and offered freelancers and coworkers the opportunity to meet up there this Thursday. 😍 #Liverpool #coworking #freelance

cat is the most misused thing by programmers new to linux. I cringe every time someone uses it wrong in a bash script. Thread below with proper uses of cat only

Random thoughts, with TV basically a slowly dying media, especially with the rise of streaming, I wonder how many shows where only popular because there was literally nothing else on; In this day and age, there's so many different shows you can stream, and yet many probably

have a show that they stick up on streaming which is a safe bet for mediocre entertainment without the investment of getting into it, akin to the type of shows you'd have on in the background when doing literally anything else, but, I wonder, how many shows where only made

popular because of their timing. e.x C4 6pm, simpsons, then hollyoaks, then sky1 at 7pm for new eps of simpsons; hollyoaks only was left on because nothing really started at 6:30 until we got CC and had 2.5men, and I'd imagine many followed the same sorta routine with other shows

grew up in a rundown industrial city in a council estate, a notorious one at that, and haven't had much luck graduating in a pandemic; but, at least in the UK, it's a very similar state, and we don't really realise how bad it is until it's far too late in the scheme of things.
Many of these companies partner with USDA to bring your kids school meals, school breakfasts 'food baskets' for the poor, etc. This cannot be ignored as one possible reason that poor, disadvantaged people have higher rates of diet-related diseases. #socialdeterminants #nutrition

cereals are fortified with vitamins to cover up the lack of proper access to "clean" food; "health" foods are touted as beneficial but tend to leave people hungry due to them practically being 50% sugar, thus, "3 meals a day" AND SNACKS!

looking at stats for my home town, year 6 obesity rates are around 30-35% currently (trending upwards over the past decade), adults, 60-65%ish, currently 66.1% according to the OHID, need to look at longer stats, but, that's worrying to say the least.
