Bridled Tern-Serreta, Terceira-A fine individual of which showed superbly & at times would land within feet of us totally unconcerned by our presence, a once in a lifetime experience.

Lesser Yellowlegs-juvenile-Paul do Cabo da Praia-Terceira-1 of 2 present inc an adult. This individual flew in calling, landed & began feeding constantly after a heavy downpour so could have been fresh in, always nice birds to see.

Semi P Sand-ad-Paul do Cabo da Praia, Terceira, U can hear this bird call several times, the short but stout bill is thick at the base & rounded at the tip, not long & pointed like a Little Stint, when side on you can see the no neck jizz & at the end U can see the webbing.

Semipalmated Plover-Paul do Cabo da Praia, Terceira-You can hear that classic diagnostic call just on the 12 second mark of this video, such an announcing call making you aware of the presence of this species.

Semipalmated Plover with 2 Ringed Plover-Paul do Cabo da Praia, Terceira-when the Ringed Plover joins the Semi P & both birds have a side on profile together you get an idea of how different they really are.

Wilson’s Phalarope x 2, Paul do Cabo da Praia, Terceira-nice to see this species in the quarry, as only seen once previously on the Azores in 2007 (Corvo). Really nice to see them out of the water & stood, preening & feeding at times.

Hobby-Juvenile-New Forest-Summer 2026, 1 of 3 chicks that successfully fledged from this particular nest with other multiple nests also successful this summer, it seems that this species is trying to make a comeback on the New Forest. @HOSbirding @newforestranger

Hobby, adult on guard perch-New Forest-Summer 2026, this has been the most successful season for me on Forest so far with this species, multiple pairs, territories, nest’s, chicks & juveniles observed. A true summer symbol species of the heathlands of the New Forest.
