@biolaa1 produced Bukas & Joints, a food and travel show that went on to be Africa’s number one food TV show. In 2017, she produced her first film, Banana Island Ghost, and in 2018, her production company, Biola Alabi Media, co-produced Lara and the Beat. Both films soared at the box office.

Congratulations, wishing you and the team many more successes!
Grateful for growth despite all the changes in the world. So far, in 2023, we have written 10 checks, 5 new partnerships (pre-seed & seed), and 5 follow on’s.
This week we closed our 1st series A investment; in a company we partnered with early from discovery (pre-seed) through a pivot into their seed. Lots of work here, including raising debt, hunkering down, and doing the hard work along with the founders, and now this A. This signals an important milestone that cements our evolved strategy of long-term partnerships with category leaders across the continent.
This week, we also held an IC, board, and team retreat.
Cheers to building the future with the most fantastic team. @vp_fund we remain bullish on Africa. 🚀
