Yup, in a startup with 20 or 30 good folks you might not have to think about this at all. As soon as your managers have managers, then optics and metrics and persuading/impressing those higher up than you becomes important, and the politics start (in my limited experience)

Can you click on “reasoned for a few seconds” and see what the thought process was? 3o-mini knows that it can go both ways, but goes with the more natural option. I bet if you prodded a little and had some dialog, you’d get an answer (although it’s being concise to a fault here)

The real disconnect is that we are used to people being inspired by others’ art and replicating it, we’re not yet used to the idea of a machine doing the same. Machines learning is viewed as commercial/transactional, human learning is respected – it’s a sovereignty issue.

Yup, this does work, at least in a simple example
4o can jump straight from a generated mockup image into implementing the design in code. Made this with just these 2 prompts. Result: 4o-glassmorphic-dashboard-de… PS kinda funny that it decided to hardcode the time. Simple example here, so might not do well with more complex stuff

Yeah the option that’s really missing is the absolutely chaotic “Member of the LGBTQIA+ community and not an ally”

I try to stay mindful of 1) physical health, 2) mental health, and 3) goals/motivation/meaning. It’s tempting to think if you’ve got 2 out of the 3 you should be good but nope, if any one is lacking it’s gonna make things hard.

Yeah a lot of its effectiveness breaks down when you need to solve a problem in an actual app, across multiple files. But just imagine when you can give it the url for a git repo and request that it submit a PR for a new feature. I’m sure that will come eventually

Exactly, I can imagine simply asking the 1880 ChatGPT to “List out 5 other potential causes for malaria besides bad air and describe an experiment that could be used to investigate each hypothesis”

I do think it’s an interesting take. But i also don’t want to spend too much time thinking through the merits of an argument coming from a dude who tells the camera how many million $ worth of watches he owns within the first 30 seconds of the video YIKES 😂

I think someone in that position could also just like being viewed as the “idgaf about money” billionaire, like it’s a status/values thing to th too. Same persona guy in the video was taking on. They’re just coming at it from opposite angles.

Found it! Subtle Patterns. Looks like they were bought by some other company, but the important thing is that the year is 2022 and “Swirl 2” still lives toptal.com/designers/subtlep…
