1 point for a minute without conceding is interesting 🤔
🔥 Man City training insight this week:
Pep Lijnders added a points system to small-sided games 🎯
⚽️ 3 pts – Goal
⚡️ 2 pts – Counter-attack goal
🛡️ 1 pt – 1 min without conceding
You can see how this system puts value on both sides of the game, high rewards for goals, but also points for strong defensive actions. Players are pushed to give everything to deny goals, but also transition quickly. It fits in with a side of the game City are looking to improve on.

Eberechi Eze is living proof of never giving up. Joined Arsenal’s academy and five years later got released. Went to Fulham, around 2 and a half years later again got released. Joined Reading academy and got released around 6 months later. Ended up going to Milwall for his scholar and got released two years later. Went on trials at multiple clubs but didn’t make it in. QPR took him in and then offered him a new contract after a few months and need up joining Crystal Palace in the 2020/2021 season. Fast forward to today and he’s bagged in Wembley in the FA Cup final against Manchester City to win Palace an FA Cup and create history. His journey has been far from easy, faced so many rejections at such a young age but he kept on going. Never give up.
Crystal Palace have 3 very good CBs
Chelsea have 1 and he spent half a season at Crystal Palace
Gvardiol will be one of the best CBs in Europe if he just continues to play there
Also, Bournemouth have two elite level defensive CBs NOT called Dean Huijsen

What’s the point of signings like this ?
There’s no way he’s better than some of the young defenders coming through the academy
🔵🇧🇷 Chelsea are prepared to seal the deal for Brazilian fullback Denner Evangelista this weekend.
17 year old talent will cost €15m package add-ons included, joining the club from 2026.
Corinthians will have a sell-on clause, as @venecasagrande reports.

Rebuilding Liverpool 2025/26: Replacing Pillars Using Data.
We dive into the challenges of replacing key players like Salah, Van Dijk & Trent amidst contract uncertainties.
Using data, I propose a future-ready lineup to keep Liverpool at the top.
Let’s discuss! 👇 #LFC #FootballAnalytics
If this is the case Enzo got lucky
I think the change to build up with BB on the left with Gusto right helped far more than Cucurella going higher than Enzo
Lavia’s passing first half was excellent centrally & Sancho’s ball progression was so good
Enzo Maresca:
"In the first-half, we had Cole Palmer on one side and Enzo Fernandez on the other side. In the second-half, we had Cole Palmer on one side and Cucurella on the other side. We changed something in behind."

Congratulations to U14 player Sydney Baker for @WelshSchoolsFA selection. Very well deserved, Sydney! 👏
Congratulations to the selected players who have been chosen to represent their #SchoolCountyCountry in the @WelshSchoolsFA National U14 Girls Representative 2024/25 squad.
Did this with my U14s and they loved it
Loads of diagonal passes, switching the play & movement to create angles
Great SSG constraint, will definitely add it my collection
Exercise design we used on Friday to develop diagonality in the build-up phase (5 v 5 + GKs). Not allowed to pass to a player in the same vertical zone. #diagonality @oddsbk

Some really awful news coming out today… Non-League footballer Jack Badger has sadly taken his own life aged just 24 💔
Please, for anyone reading this - speak to someone. Our DM’s are always open for anyone struggling. Rest in perfect peace, Jack. Taken too soon. ❤️🙏🏼
Sancho, Felix and Nkunku all best coming inside off the left to combine centrally
Chilwell needs to come back into the team to hold the width and make runs behind
🚨 Chelsea complete signing of Jadon Sancho from Manchester United. 24yo winger leaves #MUFC on season-long loan + obligation to buy at £20-25m depending on performance milestones. #CFC to deploy England international primarily on left flank @TheAthleticFC nytimes.com/athletic/5734401…

Reminder what @David_Ornstein told NBC on Saturday:
“Chelsea are actually 2 windows into a 4 window strategy, so we’re being told wait till the 1st September 2024 to really judge this new regime around recruitment." thebylineshow.com/transfer-n…
Says a lot that title challengers Arsenal want Sterling meanwhile we want united’s 5th choice winger Sancho….
