I went to the funeral for one of the two Newark brothers killed in the ship fire. In between the times the casket went into the Cathedral and came out, we broke formation and wandered over a couple blocks where FDNY’s support team had taken over a WHOLE STREET.

Ah. I’m probably around the same age, and while I noticed the GoGos (for the obvious reasons) I heard INXS’ music more.

INXS *opening* for the GoGos? I woulda thought INXS was the bigger band.

I gotta think of something better than MACHINE. Give me a bit.

Maybe not to you. Born in 1970. Practically every other weekend we were driving from New Jersey to Brooklyn to see one set of grandparents or the other, or driving the opposite direction to see cousins.

I see lots (and lots, and lots) of pumpkin pie in your future.

Speaking as a dad, and husband to a woman who spent 10+ years away while keeping our family from running into a ditch, it can indeed be overwhelming, but the value of adult conversation cannot be overstated. My only advice is to avoid jobs in retail.

Well, you'd think a guy who has been convicted of 34 felonies and has six bankruptcies to his name could never be president, either, but here we are.
