Few pieces of media unite the international proletariat like Dragon Ball Z and under the dictatorship of the proletariat the ministry of culture will fund socialist DBZ fan art

A friendly reminder that data centers don't actually need water. They need a cooling system and are using water because it's the cheapest way to do it.

This reminds of the time when “liberals” used to say
“Let’s build a school/hospital on the site”.
Lawrence Bishnoi’s stated demand is a public apology from Salman Khan to the Bishnoi community for the 1998 blackbuck poaching case.
I feel that Salman Khan, in the interest of Bollywood and his close associates, should apologise to the Bishnoi Samaj if that is the only demand. Otherwise, anyone and everyone associated with him will get targeted as done in the past too.
Whether an apology would actually end the threats is uncertain.
As they say, माफी मांगने से कोई छोटा या बड़ा नहीं होता।

Another brilliant read. During my PhD, I thought a lot about the role of images in framing the war on terror & as an educative tool for action. I agree with the conclusion here: the photograph won't save us.

Our government prepared for it by allocating land for data centres, diverting food crops to produce ethanol, and polluting existing rivers in the name of rituals and festivals.

Being rightwing means believing that there is some kind of natural hierarchy, and honor in knowing one's place in it. It encourages servility up the hierarchy and cruelty down the hierarchy. Being servile and cruel is loser shit. Surely most young men don't want to be losers.

NCERT removed the French Revolution from the syllabus, so the French decided to bring it back into current affairs.

It’s direct action with no theory. Lenin literally wrote about this—without theory, there’s no revolution. The protests are amazing at showing working-class rage, but because they lack a cohesive structural alternative to capitalism, the state just waits them out. It keeps the status quo perfectly intact.
Effectively, there needs to be direct action which is guided by strict political theory and a long-term organisational strategy. This can’t happen if there is no political organisation aiding with this, and I think that’s the ultimate issue.
If French protests are so effective why are they still stuck with neoliberalism? Why is their country still loyal to Israel and NATO? Why is the French ruling class completely unresponsive to French protester demands?
You guys realize that this is like the 100th time in the last 10 years that France has erupted in protests over neoliberalism right? Americans tend to romanticize these protests but what have they accomplished? French protesters engage in revolutionary adventurism but don’t have a follow up on how to change the system in a meaningful way. So we repeat the same cycle over and over
This is not a diss on the French protesters at all because they are just reacting to their material conditions, which is normal. But at what point do we begin having the conversation that western liberal democracy as a whole completely failed and no amount of “protests” will fix it. Protests without further revolutionary action of building real dual power seems to amount to nothing in the west

The problem Sanghis have with Dreze’s policies is that they ensured Dalit & Adivasi kids started enrolling at schools and were provided hot meals. That access to food was made a right for the poor. A society habituated to casteism & classism can’t stomach that.
