Oh, no. Larry David came out as a fucking loser. We shouldn't be too surprised - he's mates with Seinfeld after all.

Former SBS journalist @MaryKostakidis has warned in a timely speech that growing popular discontent "can’t be controlled with repressive institutional behaviour and authoritarian legislative measures".
"Just as you can’t stop an oppressed group of people from rising up against its oppressors, the rest of us can’t allow our conscience to be criminalised, and so we will not be intimidated into silence."

There was a time when I cared about what [protester] people do while raising 🇵🇸 flag & what they stand for etc etc
Not anymore 3 yrs in accelerated genocide in Gaza. There’s so much outrage & it’s already too late for anything. I no longer care or bother.

A majority of the 635 children held in Israeli prisons in 2025 were put in solitary confinement, usually for between one and two weeks – some up to eight times.
92 per cent of those children had not been sentenced.
A third had not even been charged with an offence.
The world's highest court says Israel is an apartheid state. Its decades-long occupation is illegal.
Wow.
Melbourne-based videogame developer firm House House announced this week: “We have made the decision not to release Big Walk on Xbox, in accordance with the Palestinian-led BDS (Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions) movement’s call to boycott Microsoft, and their designation of Microsoft Games (and Xbox) as a priority boycott target,”
It calls on fans and readers to read about why Microsoft is being targeted, and how such a targeted boycott has already been proven to be effective. It directs people to the BDS website, which details how Microsoft's technology is being used in Israel’s war on Gaza to carry out potential war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide.

I’ve been thinking about the failure of protests these last 3 years. It really does feel like we are in a democratic algorithm when it comes to responding to our current condition: protest, petition, vote - experience the vibe like you did something - rinse and repeat.
If French protests are so effective why are they still stuck with neoliberalism? Why is their country still loyal to Israel and NATO? Why is the French ruling class completely unresponsive to French protester demands?
You guys realize that this is like the 100th time in the last 10 years that France has erupted in protests over neoliberalism right? Americans tend to romanticize these protests but what have they accomplished? French protesters engage in revolutionary adventurism but don’t have a follow up on how to change the system in a meaningful way. So we repeat the same cycle over and over
This is not a diss on the French protesters at all because they are just reacting to their material conditions, which is normal. But at what point do we begin having the conversation that western liberal democracy as a whole completely failed and no amount of “protests” will fix it. Protests without further revolutionary action of building real dual power seems to amount to nothing in the west
This week I found out he isn’t a fan of Eli Roth. A true horror talent.

Western activists deploy the whole "I've been to the West Bank," the same way that right-wing Christians say, "I've been baptized." Both are really just rhetorical devices people use to grant themselves a kind of mystical, enlightened status without having to prove a damn thing.
As a Muslim I thought his answer was lame. He conceded labelling the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist org without question to rescue himself as the Muslim who is loyal and law abiding. Just more good Muslim, bad Muslim.

Greta Thunberg raises awareness of the Kalimantan fires and haze crisis:
“The fires and haze crisis is far from over. As terrifying as this footage is, the reality on the ground is much worse than what you see on social media. 2 million acres of forests have been destroyed by fires. Animals have been burned alive, people are dying and suffocating, villagers have lost their forests and rubber trees, firefighters have died, and 277,075 people have been hospitalized due to acute respiratory infections, including 62,400 children under the age of five. This situation has been ongoing for four months. Please continue to support by donating today to Borneo’s Fires and Haze Crisis Fundraising Campaign to help firefighters, build more haze shelters to protect people, especially children and vulnerable groups, and save the remaining forests.”

Ya han hecho más estos manifestantes por los pobres en 1 dia que los ayuntamientos y los políticos franceses en años.

Another brilliant read. During my PhD, I thought a lot about the role of images in framing the war on terror & as an educative tool for action. I agree with the conclusion here: the photograph won't save us.

This is the very function of manufacturing consent. Normalise the same talking heads, talking points and turn the frames of war (genocide in this case) as capital T truth.
Powerful read. For many who now have to speak in the imperial ruins of English. It's loaded with our histories of displacement, dispossession, psychic colonisation, fragmentation, alienation and trauma. thekeymagazine.com/p/yahya-a…
The European spring.
Hundreds of thousands of people took to the streets in Belgium, France, Italy and Portugal to protest rising living costs, low wages and housing shortages, putting pressure on governments across the European Union.
