Unpopular opinion: I think *PART* of the reason for this is that many Niger-Congo ethnic groups somewhat remember that part of their ancestry genuinely originated in the Nile area, in the paleolithic. Nothing to do with Egyptian civilization, but references more ancient origins

7/7/2007. A day I will never forget. Journey between Ojota and Iwo Road that's supposed to be two hours at most took almost 13 hours. We slept on the road because churches on the Lagos Ibadan express decided the day was a special day.
