Very honest statement coming from the Bengal CM - he’s asking the opposition not to play politics over Kolkata’s worst Durga Puja Stampede - ever.
Only BJP has the right to play politics over dead bodies. Be it Vivekananda Road flyover collapse or solders martyred in Pulwama.

A few years ago, Ashu had a high-paying corporate job in London, earning millions. Saurav was writing about the country’s legal system and living a great life. Both had successful careers, financial security and every reason to continue living the lives they had built for themselves.
But they chose to give it all up in the hope of making this country a better place. They had absolutely no reason to leave behind their comfortable lives, take to the streets, face uncertainty and eventually end up in jail. Yet they did.
What I admire most about these two is that despite coming from privileged backgrounds, they chose to fight for those who aren’t as fortunate. They could have easily looked the other way, enjoyed their lives and never bothered about the struggles of people they had never even met. Nobody asked them to make these sacrifices. Nobody expected them to. But they did, because they genuinely care about people beyond themselves.
And to me, that is the greatest quality a human being can have. To stand up for people you don’t know, to fight battles that aren’t your own, and to risk everything you have so that someone else might have a better life.
That’s the kind of people Ashu and Saurav are.

Monday morning questions: How does the Lawrence Bishnoi gang operate with such impunity, in India and abroad, when its BOSS is lodged in the high-security Sabarmati jail? Who is running the network, how is it being funded, and why has the state been unable to dismantle it? A gangster behind bars should not mean a gang beyond the law, no?

Dear Ashu and Saurav,
Today marks the sixth day of you both being in jail. I cannot tell you how much I miss you, my brothers.
For the past three months, I had grown so used to your countless annoying calls and messages at the oddest hours of the day. And I would ignore or avoid most of them, knowing that even without me, you two would somehow figure everything out. And you always did.
For the last three months, people may have seen me as the face of CJP, but what most people don't know is that it was you two who were actually running it, building it and keeping everything together. I may have started CJP by accident, but it was your brilliance, dedication and courage that turned it into what it is today, a hope for millions of people.
I genuinely don't think CJP would have achieved even half of what it has without you two. And I wish more people knew just how much of yourselves you have given to this movement, how much you have sacrificed and how little credit you have ever asked for in return.
Today is supposed to be the last day of your custody, and there is absolutely nothing I want more right now than to see you both walk out free. Nothing else matters to me at this moment. I just want my brothers back.
I am sorry, my brothers, for everything you are going through. And I want to apologise to your families too, for the pain, anxiety and uncertainty they have had to endure. I know an apology cannot make any of this easier, but I wish with all my heart that you and your families didn't have to go through any of it.
I miss your relentless calls and messages, I miss knowing that no matter what happens, you two are just one phone call away. I just want that phone to ring again.
Come back soon, my brothers. ❤️

Delhi Police has a weird habit.
First, they detain you and deny you access to lawyers the entire time. They don’t tell you or anyone where you are being taken to.
Then, at 3:30 in the morning, they suddenly show up with arrest papers and finally call your lawyer at 4 AM!
This has happened to me twice now. Ye 3:30 AM ko aisa kaunsa shubh muhurat hota hai, Delhi Police?
