10 years ago, I hit "submit" on this Reddit post asking r/shopify to test our free app. We didn't even know how to charge for it. Fast forward a decade, and that simple app has grown into an enterprise platform generating mid-eight figures in cumulative revenue.A quick story for founders: 🧵👇

Rev per employee at Zoho is an estimated $83K vs. ~$500K for Salesforce or ~350K for Hubspot. Not exactly apples-to-apples, but that's the crux of the challenge. Solving for that at scale isn't easy, esp when you have ~20K employees.
The business outlook for software is uncertain and AI has raised costs dramatically with a) massive 4-fold increase in server prices which we need for data centers b) AI usage increasing rapidly, leading to much higher expenses, which we are trying to control.
On top of that is the challenging geopolitical backdrop.
We have cut down on our marketing budget. We have also told our employees that we cannot have our usual pay increase this year. I have apolgized for not being able to avoid this.
We will work hard to avoid mass layoffs but the outlook for software jobs in general is grim. We have not been growing our employee count for 18 months now.
Most of our employees understand the situation. I am thankful to them.
We are in the middle of reinventing ourselves. The next 3-5 years will decide how our reinvention has worked. Please pray for us 🙏
The math increasingly comes down to revenue per employee in an AI-first future. The sooner you recalibrate, the better. Companies in India have historically thrown people at the problem because labor arbitrage was real, but with AI, that’s no longer true. Adapt now, or perish.
Was wondering why Motwani ji hadn’t shared her wisdom on what India should do about Elon and Starlink. She didn’t disappoint. Sepoy, thy color is brown.
Couldn’t agree more.
Also their position ignores the fact that founders evolve a great deal with context and experience - and that shapes their perspective on finding an efficient path to scale that balances product and capital allocation.
The way great founders become great capital allocators is by investing in their own pockets of value only they can access via their moat.
Not every great product founder ends up with an investable platform business, so vision really matters.
So Parm and Will are both wrong.
Cards on the table: let’s talk about your #BFCM plan!
We’re spending Oct 16 in Austin with Frankly Ecommerce and Brian Massey of Conversion Sciences, getting into offers, landing pages, waitlists, and the BFCM decisions that are still up for debate.
Then over lunch, our own Ashley Bondeson is joining Patrick Scott Pitman to talk wishlist and back-in-stock flows: what gets shoppers to come back, what tends to convert, and the first thing she’d set up if there were only an afternoon to work with.
If you’re in Austin and still making BFCM calls, you’ll probably want to be in this one. Comment below for the invite.
Pick your problem with Meherish and see which part of your wishlist strategy you should be working on next.
A lot of brands start with the obvious use cases: wishlist reminders, back-in-stock, price-drop and low-stock alerts. But that doesn’t have to be where your wishlist strategy stops!
You can use wishlist behavior to build segments, bring saved products into winbacks, add them to newsletters, or even use them in post-purchase flows. The session walks through how to move from the basic triggered flows into more of those use cases.

Another reminder to never fly @IndiGo6E unless there's zero alternative. A complete masterclass on how to destroy a once-beloved brand.
After India’s incredible second half run at the #AsianGames2026, it’s only fair that @TheKhelIndia also be given an honorary Gold medal. His coverage of the games has been absolute gold 🥇

New baby announcement!
At dawn today, ex-orphan Chaimu returned to our Ithumba stockades with a beautiful surprise – her newborn daughter. We were delighted that she chose to share this special moment with the Keepers who helped raise her.
Named Comet, she is the 95th known calf born to an orphan rescued, raised and rewilded through our Orphans’ Project.
Each new arrival is a wonderful reminder of what your support makes possible: not just saving individual lives, but giving rise to new generations of wild elephants.

The weaving of gamocha goes on as elephants pass nearby, somewhere in Goalpara, Assam. There is something deeply moving about this calm, about a community that makes room for elephants in everyday life.
As the world grows less tolerant to wildlife, this simple moment gives us inspiration to learn from communities who share space with wildlife.

This app has incredibly good UX, very nicely done. Was wondering earlier this week about the effort it’d have taken to digitize all of the routes and stops - the fact that it was just a 6-member team and a 20-day effort is mind blowing. Super impressive, congrats to the team!
Chennai has 7000 bus stops, 3800 buses.
6 member operation team and 20 day timeline, everything was digitized.
Trained atleast 4000 conductors to go digital.
Its been a year since the launch of Chennai One,
- 1.5 Lac tickets are purchased on a daily basis.
- Monthly, 68k out of 90k bus passes are digitally renewed.
Beautifully designed & executed by a 30 member team (in pic) from @nammayatri @timelessco @Chennai_One

So, so excited about this. Investing in our people, our most valuable asset ❤️
Growth at Swym just got a name: Elevate.
As Swym expands, we want people here to get closer to more of the business too: more context, more conversations across teams, more chances to take on something new, and a clearer view of how decisions get made.
Over the next six months, Swymmers will spend time with specialists, work on Communication, Influence, Judgment and Commercial acumen, and use what they learn in the work they already do.
We’re stoked to see what our future leaders do with it!
Wow, hard to believe this is a government website - america.gov
Very nicely done 👏 👏
Swymbiosis Chapter 3 gave us exactly the kind of day we hoped for when we started planning it.
Yesterday was all about getting 1,500 trees into the ground with Karisakattu Poove Trust, and a lot of credit goes to the KP team, who had already done so much of the prep before we arrived and stayed with us through the planting, guiding us as we went and keeping the day moving.
And to every Swymmer, friend, and family member who came along, thank you for bringing the energy, the patience, and a fair bit of arm strength. 💚
