🚨 My paper with Noah Goyke and @PuneetDwivedix in Rural Sociology is out! Our findings show that place attachment is a strong predictor for conservation intentions in male, but not so much in female forest landowners. To learn more see doi.org/10.1111/ruso.12434. PM for PDF.

CSU researcher @anne_mook and colleague @PilarMorGin wanted to look deeper into the impacts of wildfires on communities around them.
What they found is that while the scars of wildfires run deep, so too are their ability to influence adaptation and build resilience.

🚨 Stop chasing the p-value!
Increasing your sample size will always yield a significant result.
Even for trivial differences.
🎮 I created a little interactive playground to illustrate this issue:

Always pair p-values with effect sizes!

In this holiday season, I want to share this reminder: Be grateful you still have a job and that your department hasn’t been merged with philosophy yet.
Oh sorry, make that sociology, we killed the philosophy department as a gift to the provost last Christmas.
My new article with Carolina Berget Ph.D. and Puneet Dwivedi is out in Forest Policy and Economics. We use Structural Equation Modeling #SEM to asses how #selfefficacy predicts female forest landowners' engagement in #prescribed #burning. lnkd.in/d9xe7-EC
