The Ed Stafford show, 60 days on the estate has a local community guy in Easter house, he said when asked about crime in the local area, neglect, that was the biggest crime, neglect by central and local government.
He's correct.

Just made the mistake of checking my HECS debt and the amount I paid off it last year is only FOURTEEN DOLLARS more than the indexation it just got hit with.
It is absolutely insane to me that it's indexed before the year of payments gets processed.

👀Look here—Australian🇦🇺 COVID death data I trust because they don’t suppress data or limit testing as much as other places. 🇦🇺 May 2023 #COVID mortality to date is already 4x their 2020 and 3x their 2021 deaths. And flu deaths are low comparison, even their bad flu 2019 season. ➡️COVID is now Australia’s third leading cause of death. In 2023 ten times more people will die of COVID than die in car accidents.
Thanks @k_eagar

I'm in this group and I feel really let down and I'd even go so far as to say violated now. It was supposed to be safe space.
@RCars0n1 - I'm not far from you. Please can we meet so we can talk about how we mitigate the damage you've done to our community? I'm sure it wasn't intentional.

‘Hi Sam, In addition to NDIS slash in budget, did you also know they have cut the National Disability Coordination Officer Programme? NDCOs have until Sept to wind up all their projects. Program essential to PWD pathways in regional areas.’

Yesterday I rang Workskil to attend my appointment, when they didn’t ring me. The recorded message said it’s a public holiday. I’m in NSW, they’re in Cannington, WA. Today I get a message to say that my payment (lol) will be cut off.
This is what it’s like. Every day.

You know what we need?
A name for the specific form of complex trauma you develop if you grow up unaware that you’re #actuallyAutistic.
Every person I talk to has the same basic pattern to overcome. It looks like this:

Just saw somebody try to argue that minimum wage isn't supposed to be a living wage. That their small business can't afford to pay a living wage.
If the only way your business can exist is the exploitation of labor (aka peoples actual lives), then your business should not exist.

Hi.
Disabled (including immunocompromised) people don't feel left behind by your pandemic ableism.
We. Have. Been. Removed. From. Public. Life.
That's not a feeling. That's a fact.
And we have feelings about the fact.

Lots of the books we’ve read are in this list. This graphic has really helped to explain the spectrum and that there’s no such thing as “a little bit autistic”.

ALT Two panel image. First is two pencil cartoon penguins. One has layers of multiple colours 3/4 the way up its body. The other only has a few layers 1/4 up it’s body. The image reads “Autism is a spectrum. Not like this.” 2nd panel reads “but like this”. Penguins are repeated but both are smiling, full of blended colour patches. There is a colour wheel key in the middle, helping to identify the meanings of the colours on the penguins. They are autistic strengths and challenges, repetitions, social skills, communication, sensitivities, etc. one penguin: “we are both autistic”, the other “but we have different strengths and difficulties.”

Coordinating with @SVA_NZ on how folks can help out. Authorities still getting full picture and @NiwaWeather note heavy showers and thunderstorms are still possible today.
Please stay safe for now, but if you’re interested in helping, register interest: sva.org.nz/auckland-flood-vo…

I hope the media goes and talks to researchers and practitioners working on biofiltration, rain gardens, water-integrated architecture and storm ponds, urban wetlands, swales, and engages with the conceptual shifts required for achieving large scale resilience.
