Update about my legal challenge in relation to right to wear a mask indoors when voting, a thread. #MyMaskMyVote 🧵⤵️ 1/12
Please support my taking a stand and refusing to remove my mask when government representatives made my accessing public services contingent on de-masking. 😷😷😷 My legal action is about health autonomy & upholding at-risk rights. 👇 inews.co.uk/news/immunosuppr…

The thing about “I know other high risk/immunocompromised people & they don’t mask!” is that all of us, but specifically high risk ppl, have been abandoned by public health/gov. “The vulnerable will fall by the wayside” includes informationally. Many don’t know the actual risks.

Liberal democracy cannot bring justice, equality, human or planetary thriving, but it can be used as a tool to create useful or even destructive tension, opening up fissures that move us closer to revolutionary futures. That's what the Green party motion did, and why it's good

It seems as though Labour are effectively going to decree that everyone under the age of 25 (apart from those who have met the severe conditions criteria) will effectively be deemed to be capable of work-related activity, with the health element not being accessible to them before then. An entirely ridiculous suggestion. I don't know who came up with such an idea but I can tell you one thing, it wasn't a disabled person. Of course this could be a media spin, whereby they put out something completely outrageous and then they announce the actual policy and it's a slightly watered down version, but either way, effectively forcing thousands of disabled people to compete for jobs they won't be able to do is completely nonsensical proposition.

if sick people are having their money taken away and disabled people are having their money taken away and elderly people are having their money taken away then what is the point, this is a failed state, a failed society

The government is quietly engineering a lethal trap for disabled people, and they are disguising it as "welfare reform." Abolishing the Work Capability Assessment (WCA) to make PIP the single, exclusive gateway for health-related Universal Credit by 2028/29 is not a policy tweak. It is a calculated, malicious act of state cruelty designed to eradicate the safety net entirely. Look at the sheer scale of the cliff-edge being manufactured: There are currently over 1.1 million people receiving LCW, LCWRA, or ESA who do not have the Daily Living component of PIP. Crucially, nearly half a million (469,920) of those exact claimants have already been dragged through a humiliating PIP assessment and failed it. PIP and the WCA measure two entirely different realities. PIP assesses if you need financial help to wash, dress, or navigate your home etc. The WCA assesses if your health legally prevents you from holding down a job. By aggressively insisting PIP serves as the solitary threshold for both benefits, the DWP is maliciously deciding that over a million profoundly sick, neurodivergent, and disabled citizens are suddenly "fit for work" by default. Let us be absolutely clear about what this actually means: 1. Total Financial Blackout: People enduring severe, fluctuating chronic illnesses, neurodivergence, or disabling mental health crises who fail the notoriously rigged, adversarial PIP process will have their health-related uplifts instantly severed. 2. Punitive Harassment: Stripped of their protected status, hundreds of thousands of sick people will be violently shoved into standard Universal Credit conditionality. Imagine being in a rolling, debilitating physical crash, and being legally mandated to spend 35 hours a week job hunting and attending arbitrary Jobcentre interrogations. 3. Weaponised Starvation: When our bodies inevitably give out, and we fail to meet their impossible, ableist demands, the DWP will sanction us. They will freeze our basic subsistence allowance and starve us out. 4. State-Sanctioned Deaths: Let’s stop sugarcoating the reality of these policies. We already know the devastating, blood-stained correlation between aggressive DWP conditionality, financial starvation, and suicides. Forcing deeply vulnerable people through this punitive meat grinder will directly cause severe psychological collapse and a catastrophic, preventable loss of life. Advocacy groups are already warning that over 900,000 people will be hit by this exact "double whammy" of losing both benefits simultaneously. And this is those who are currently in power. This is not about "getting Britain working." This is about wiping disabled people off the ledger by starving us into submission or into the grave. We are not your scapegoats, and we are not expendable. #ChangingTheNarrative #PunchDownMedia #TakingThePip
I know the Work Capability Assessment is horrendous But what Labour plan to do is *much worse* Their plan is to "decouple financial support from capability to work" Their plan will mean 100,000s who would qualify now as too ill or disabled to work will be deemed "fit for work"

Forcing disabled young people the DWP has already declared unfit for work into employment whilst cutting Access to Work and spreading propaganda about how disabled benefit claimants are all faking scroungers, wheres this "hope" you speak of @UKLabour @andyburnham?

When Trump officials take steps to restrict COVID vaccines for children, it makes headlines… …but here in the UK, kids haven’t been able to get a COVID booster for YEARS. There is NO choice, not even privately for kids under 12. theguardian.com/us-news/2026… (H/t @karamballes)
Replying to @_CatintheHat
And now, here’s a reminder of just how heavily restricted the eligibility criteria for an NHS Covid booster are. When you compare the eligibility criteria for an NHS COVID jab vs a FLU jab, the difference is staggering. Many clinically vulnerable people are no longer eligible.

For those asking if this shocking new COVID testing guidance from N. Ireland can possibly be real… …yes, I’m afraid it is real. SYMPTOMATIC healthcare staff caring for IMMUNOCOMPROMISED patients are no longer recommended to test. Here’s the link ⬇️ publichealth.hscni.net/covid…
🚨N. Ireland have updated their COVID testing guidance (effective from 6 Aug): “Lateral flow testing for COVID is no longer recommended for SYMPTOMATIC healthcare staff working in clinical areas caring for PROFOUNDLY IMMUNOCOMPROMISED PATIENTS” Have no doubt, this will kill ☠️

Back to this hellscape after a long hiatus. Wondering how the algorithm, bots and trolls have changed in the last year. Great to be back in contact with mutuals where limited interactions elsewhere. So, is it time for the four horsemen of apocalypse yet?

The CDC says to wear an "N95 respirator or higher" against Andes virus. It's #airborne.
The WHO spread the myth that "COVID-19 is NOT airborne." Zoom in on their current Tweet. The CDC says to use "N95 respirators or higher" to prevent possible airborne transmission. Some workers are wearing baggy procedure masks *NOT* designed for airborne.

The DWP is an absolute clusterfuck. This time they've been miscalculating payments, issuing overpayments, and demanding “repayment” from claimants who they blame. Sound familiar? @RachelCDailey_ writes. thecanary.co/uk/2026/05/11/d…

A study suggests that many older adults who died of COVID-19 weren’t close to death before infection. In fact, 28% would likely have lived at least another 5 years if they hadn't contracted the virus. Read more: ow.ly/j4V150YXREy

If a government or corporation admits a virus is aerosolized (airborne), they become responsible for the air. Every office, school, and factory would legally need hospital-grade ventilation (high-air-exchange HVAC). That is a multi-billion dollar price tag.

Legalising and regulating drugs is about reducing the harm and deaths caused by drug use, and treating addicts rather than criminalsing them. It is appalling that Labour and Reform are playing politics with people's lives.

I wear a respirator when I’m cleaning. They’re not just for infectious disease.
A 20-year study found women who regularly cleaned their homes lost lung function equivalent to smoking 20 cigarettes a day. Yes — 20 cigarettes a day worth of damage, and only in women. Men showed no comparable decline. Why the huge gender gap? Women use far more cleaning sprays, disinfectants, air fresheners, scented detergents, candles, and fragrance-loaded products — all containing volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and irritants that aerosolize and get inhaled deeply into the lungs. Science nugget: The study (published in the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, 2018, based on the long-running European Community Respiratory Health Survey) tracked lung function (FEV1 and FVC) over 20 years in thousands of participants. Women who cleaned regularly (weekly or more) had accelerated lung function decline comparable to ~20 pack-years of smoking. No similar effect was seen in men, likely due to lower exposure to household cleaning chemicals. The fix is simple and cheap: Switch to non-toxic alternatives — vinegar + water, baking soda, castile soap, hydrogen peroxide. Ditch the scented sprays, "fresh linen" plug-ins, and harsh chemical cleaners. Your lungs don’t regenerate like your liver. Damage accumulates for life. You wouldn’t smoke a pack a day. Why clean like you do? Who’s switching their cleaning routine after this?
