I'm taking a break from this app. There are some truly wonderful people here, and Ill miss you. Maybe it's an act of cowardice, but I can't see value in being swamped with world-burning nonsense by a tool of one of those holding a torch. Be good to yourselves and each other.

Birthdays are hard, sometimes. Today is my brother's birthday--the first since he was found dead in his own home before Christmas last year. Happy Birthday, little brother. I hope you're more at peace now.

Medicine Hat Alberta experimented with something similar. I need to follow up how that went.
“In Finland, the # of homeless people has fallen sharply. Those affected receive a small apartment & counselling with no preconditions. 4 out of 5 people affected make their way back into a stable life. And all this is CHEAPER than accepting homelessness.” scoop.me/housing-first-finla…

Absolutely! Ask. If you feel you can't, you have to consider whether you really should be trying anything requiring consent. Try watching and interacting with respect first. When you do ask, accept the answer you get the first time. 👍
the only people who insist that body language is a better indicator of consent than actual enthusiastic verbal consent are those who benefit from grey areas that lower their chance of rejection while maintaining plausible deniability

Miss Lizz, I applaud you, loud, and long. Hear hear!

This is not a good faith question & you know it. You’re a coward for making this private. Saying I support Hamas because I said I don’t want innocent Palestinians to die makes you a racist ass. My father is a rabbi. I love being a Jew. This can coexist. Learn about Tikkun Olam.

Last December I received the best news possible, when I found out my son's non-Hodgkins lymphoma had been eradicated. He is still monitoring, but is cancer-free. We are now racing each other to our first pony-tail. 😈

Sadly this won't be seen by many, but I have to ask. I have seen a lot of advertising for men's and women's phermone-based colognes, all claiming outrageous efficacy. My question: Presuming the claims are valid, is anybody troubled by the ethics of these chemicals' public use?

Legendary take! Brava, Sundae.
If you're naked on the front porch and the neighbors can't see you, it's rural. If you're naked on the front porch and the neighbors call the cops, it's suburban. If you're naked on the front porch and the neighbors ignore you, it's urban. If you're naked on the front porch and your neighbor is also naked, it's Florida.

Today I received wonderful news. Half-way through my son's treatment cycle for non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, a PET scan revealed nearly complete response to the treatment. He has been a trooper and the support of family and friends has been instrumental. I am ecstatically happy for him!

Again, today, ER nurses and doctors proved themselves heroes in my eyes. My circumstances were modest, but these people do an amazing job of providing compassionate, professional care, every day. Thank you!

Brilliant work!
BREAKING: Idaho’s largest newspaper humiliates Trump’s “Patriot Front” white supremacists in a devastating op-ed after they file a lawsuit complaining that they’ve lost their jobs and been shunned by their families after their identities exposed to the public. In the brutal op-ed, the editors of the Idaho Statesman didn’t mince words and showed zero sympathy for the pro-Trump’s neo-nazis, declaring that, “What they’re really upset about is suffering the consequences of their abhorrent views — views that they feel so strongly about, they don’t want anyone to know about. The plaintiffs say they were fired from their jobs, have been threatened at their homes and have had their tires slashed, among other things. The editorial continues, “Actions have consequences. It’s a warped view of freedom of expression when Patriot Front members attempt to completely conceal their ownership of said expression. Hiding behind anonymity has become an all-too-common feature of white nationalist and extremist trolls who lurk in the shadows of social media, hiding behind bogus accounts and fake avatars, spewing hate, sowing division, and threatening and intimidating others. The brutal takedown continues, “It’s that anonymity that allows their putrescent views to grow and spread like a flesh-eating bacteria — except in this case, it’s more like a brain-eating disease. The fact the Patriot Front members’ main complaint is that they’ve suffered for being associated with these views is telling. The fact that employers — even their own relatives, in the case of Brown — want nothing to do with them tells you all you need to know. The editorial ends with a bang, “If Patriot Front members believe that they are right and just, why not attach their names to their beliefs and putrid goals? Otherwise, they’re just behaving in a cowardly fashion, hiding behind ridiculous masks, fake social media accounts and in the darkness of the back of a U-Haul van." Well said!👏👏👏 Please retweet and ❤️ to thank the Idaho Statesman for setting Trump’s “Patriot Front” straight — and consider joining the growing exodus to Tribel, a woke new Twitter competitor that banned Trump for life and is exploding in popularity because Elon Musk banned Tribel’s Twitter account — but he forgot to ban this link to download the new Tribel app: tribel.app.link/okwPIHYCIqb

FAFO. They deserve all the harassment they and their ilk have laid on minorities since the inception of bigotry. Want to avoid the trouble? Stand out loud and proud for a lifetime of allied support of the people they sought to attack.
The individuals pictured here have pleaded with the public to cease harassment, as they have already suffered the loss of friends, family, and jobs due to this story. On June 12, 2022, the Kootenai County Sheriff's Office released the names and photos of 31 members of the white nationalist group, Patriot Front, who were arrested on suspicion of conspiring to riot in Coeur d'Alene during a Pride event[1][3][5]. All the arrested individuals had bonded out of the Kootenai County Jail by Sunday afternoon[1]. The group was reportedly en route to the "Pride in the Park" event equipped with riot gear, a smoke grenade, and paperwork that resembled an operations plan[1][3]. The Patriot Front is known for its activities in vandalism, racist propaganda, and flash demonstrations aimed at intimidating minorities[1][3]. The group members were found inside a U-Haul moving truck after a tip from a concerned citizen[1][3]. Among those arrested was the group's founder, Thomas R. Rousseau, and other known members like Kieran P. Morris, Garret J. Garland, and Mitchell F. Wagner[1][3]. The arrested individuals hailed from various states, including Michigan, Texas, Alabama, Colorado, Idaho, Wyoming, Utah, South Dakota, Washington, Oregon, Illinois, and Arkansas[1][3]. The next court appearance for the arrested members is yet to be determined[1].
