Six years after the Pulse massacre, waking up on another Sunday — on Transgender Day of Remembrance — to read about a another murderous rampage of gun violence in the place where LGBTQ people are meant to be safe to look, talk, laugh and dance as ourselves is soul crushing. #TDOR
At least 5 killed, 18 injured in shooting at LGBTQ club in Colorado Springs, police say washingtonpost.com/nation/20…

How great would it be if all 33 of these Black postdocs went on to achieve their career goals? Last night we discussed our plan for making that happen.
Please support the @natblackpostdoc by RT'ing so our group can increase our visibility, grow, and further increase our impact.

The West is still trying to understand #iran ‘s Feminist Revolution happening in real time because it is confined by colonial paradigm of what feminism is—yet in Iran Kurdish & Iranian women are showing the world what feminism is. A thread 🧵

A new paper from one of our collaborators! Congratulations! @NganHuang @StanfordCVI used the Enable Medicine Platform with #RNAscope to explore the #spatial organization of endothelial cells in a model of atherosclerosis. Access the Enable Platform here: app.enablemedicine.com/sign-…
I'm so excited to share our latest publication! Single cell analysis of how substrate stiffness directly modulates endothelial de-differentiation. @StanfordCTSurg @StanfordCVI #ahascience @AppliedCVB onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/…

Hey y'all, if you care about transgender rights, I'm coming to you with new request.
Biden released a rule that will make trans health care benefits SUBSTANTIALLY easier to receive under sec 1557.
Please comment in support of trans healthcare equality:

Excited to share the latest preprint with @MikeAngeloLab! While imaging studies often focus on cell objects, images capture significant info outside of cells. Enter Pixie, a pipeline for the quantitative annotation of both pixel and cell level features🧵biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/…

A little late, but it’s my joy to share the successful defense of my dear friend Nasa Sinnott-Armstrong. Their resilience, compassion, and dedication to reimagining science & what being a scientist can be has inspired my journey in STEM! Join their lab @fredhutch! 💜🏳️⚧️🧬 – at California, USA

It all feels beyond surreal. I am extremely grateful to have received this year’s Dean’s Postdoctoral Fellowship @HMS_DICP @HMSPostdoc!
I had low expectations for this application, but I was distinctly proud of how much I conveyed my full self in those statements.
What even 😭

Roe v Wade is dead.
It is no coincidence that we are watching abortion rights fall the same year the most anti-trans/lgbt laws have been passed in history.
These are two sides of the same coin in the same fight and the same people are fighting with the same justifications.

We wrote CELESTA to make identifying cells in multiplexed images faster+easier. It's been a lifesaver, esp. in complex (and thus v. interesting) biological tissues!
Check it out in the paper and on github: github.com/plevritis-lab/CEL…
... and let us know if you try it out!

.@JasonCMarvin looking possibly more thrilled while (finally) eating @mamalehs than when they had just passed their defense 👀😋😂
Nearly 4.5 years later, @aechiou and I are exploring our new home in Boston for this next chapter in our lives!
Looking forward to moving here in only a few weeks from now. But more importantly, to eat a lot of food before I go back to Ithaca for the last time (!) 🤪

I am excited to share with y'all the culmination of my dissertation research during my time @CornellBME in the @NAP_Lab 🥳 – at Ithaca, NY

ALT The title slide of my upcoming Ph.D. defense announcement. The title of my defense is "Leveraging Biological Insight From the Regenerative MRL/MpJ Mouse Strain for Tendon Mechanistic Discovery and Therapeutic Development." The defense date is for Monday, April 25th starting at 11:30 AM EST. In the top left of the slide is a headshot of me, while the background of the slide is a fluorescence microscope image from my research showing tendon cell cytoskeletons (in green) with their nuclei counterstained in blue.
