I've just read his biog, and it's 100% his standard operating procedure. Doesn't make any flashy promises he can't be sure of delivering on. Sort out the basics (unsexy but fundamental), then build on solid foundations. Would recommend it as a read to understand him

I’ve been playing with Matomo and Plausible. Neither perfect, but worth looking at. I’m surprised Google haven’t launched a UA analysis layer on top of GA4. GDS is just too much effort for not enough reward
