New blog on the way, and I'll be posting it on the Blue place and the Threaded place.
It's time to draw a line.
Twitter has changed my life several times over the last 15 years. Or rather the people I found here, and who found me have.

Passing through these parts briefly and spotted this horror. Matt knows what he's talking about. ⬇️
But the problem is he's unstable enough that I can't trust him to not use his algorithm to influence me. And his causes are a mile away from mine.

I think this is the most important thing I wrote this year. The reason: Christian leaders in all sorts of movements love to be 'National Director' and run away from the responsibility the title implies.
New blog: The Gerald Coates report is only half the story bit.ly/4bTfgaT
I see a lot less people. Churches expose you to a variety of people, some funny, some kind, some odd, some intimidating, some difficult. More of the former, but the latter leave an outsize impact.
Am I 'nowhere with God'? You'd have to ask him that.
Have I 'fallen away'? It's kind of a weird metaphor tbh.
I have less guilt about evangelism and fancy dress at Halloween. Wallowing in sin, that's me.
This year was a historic low in my church attendance. I think I made it to 5 or 6 services.
How did that pan out?
I had a load more free time. I did a lot less singing. I learned a lot more about the Bible.
Weird, eh? Churches are often not good places to learn about the Bible.
It's interesting what gets normalised in Christian circles. My Baptist-> UCCF-> New Churches -> CofE journey left me with a lasting impression that 10%+ of my income should go to the church.
Jesus seems less concerned on that front. 🤔
Here's the thing I found. When I decided to head for inclusive churches, and followed more LGBTQIA+ Christians on social media, I discovered that safety in church is a luxury, not a standard.

Astonishingly, the Daily Mail is framing this as a 'demand' and a 'jaw-dropping requirement' of Blake Lively:
"'no more showing of nude videos or images of women, including the producer's wife' to Lively or her employees"
Are Daily Mail staff required to watch porn then?
For a few years I've been listening to the Man Enough Podcast. It's helped me think about gender and where it shows up. And then this news story drops:

There may be more to come about Justin Baldoni. People tend to act out of habits, and when behaviour comes to light it's often an indicator of a courageous survivor rather than isolated occurence.
