If you've never had to walk around with wadded up toilet paper in your underwear because you couldn't afford maxi pads, you should probs STFU about free menstrual products in school bathrooms.

It’s wayyyyy too many young people donating plasma, blood, sperm, and their eggs just to pay rent for people to deny that we have a problem.
They’re not doing it because of a good deed or to help others, solely because rent is too damn high.

have y’all noticed how Black women are collectively bracing themselves for the hate they’ll get during this election season now that Harris is running? this is what we mean when we speak of “chronic/anticipatory stressors w/ adverse health consequences” they regularly endure smh

This is true. I interviewed @WinstonEnts #onhere in 2020 — His family’s tannery in Kano Nigeria has supplied luxury houses with leathers + exotic skins for decades. I’ll link that thread interview here: xitter.cf/bronze_bombshel/status…
It’s 2024, no more excuses! It should be considered malpractice for doctors to be incompetent in treating patients of color.
The public health educator in me wishes they used the specific language of “crisis pregnancy center” to avoid confusion. But this kind of communication is a step in the right direction for battling maternal health disinformation.

I interviewed @RealRapman, director of @NetflixUK latest hit superhero series, Supacell, on his decision to make Sickle Cell a prominent theme in the show.
As an @GiveBloodNHS Blood and transplant ambassador, blood donor & Sickle Cell Advocate, I love what Supacell stands for.
In the Supacell universe + in our universe, you are a superhero @Simply_Sayo ❤️
A powerful discussion between #Supacell creator @RealRapman and poet @Simply_Sayo on the reality of sickle cell disorder and how it disproportionately affects people from Black African and Caribbean backgrounds.

The Caribbean accounts for less than 0.5% of global fossil fuel emissions and yet we continuously bear the brunt of the climate crisis. We then have to spend our meager GDP rebuilding and countries single-handedly fueling the crisis will look at us and call us “developing”

This is the 3rd leading cause of death for high school athletes. Don’t die because your coach doesn’t understand basic physiology.

Therapy can only do so much if you’re not able to get your basic needs met. Mental health is affordable housing. Mental health is free healthcare. Mental health is free education. Mental health is food security. Mental health is financial stability. Therapy can’t fix the system.

I highly encourage people to volunteer as a baby cuddler! We need baby cuddlers in the NICU or pediatrics!
Some parents abandon their baby and never come back because the baby is ill or has a disability.
