Am I the only person who laughed at the death by Safety Dance scene or are some of you as disturbed as I am?
We were singing Relax by Frankie Goes To Hollywood in grade school, and how the hll was that song allowed in the radio?!?! 😬
I was getting ready to go to work. At the World Trade Center.
Can you remember what you were doing on 9/11?
I can remember, I'd just gotten home from a 24 hour shift at my firehouse. I was sitting at my kitchen table watching TV. I was putting on my running shoes, about to go for a run.
That's when the news flashed that a plane had it the World Trade Center. I was thinking it was an accident. Then the second plane hit and I knew it wasn't an accident.
My thoughts immediately went to the firefighters and all of the stairs they would have to climb to make rescues and how many extra air tanks they were gonna need.
I was sitting there, transfixed on the TV. I couldn't believe what was happening.
When the towers came crashing down, all I could only think of was the loss of lives racing up those stairs to make rescues and the people who were trapped.
Well, I never made my morning run that day.
This was the day that changed the world.
I will never forget.
I was 29. I had just gotten out of the Army Reserves on 8/30. I was working in a satellite store for Waldenbooks which was located under the South Tower. I was about to go to work. I turned on the TV to see the weather. I thought it was a movie at first.
