Better roads should be a priority. That is why I was proud to launch the APPG for Better Roads’ new report in Parliament. When I became a Surrey County Councillor in 2021, the state of our roads quickly became one of the biggest issues in my inbox. I promised to keep fighting for better funding when I became an MP. As Chair of the @AppgRoads, I am determined to deliver on that promise. Our report sets out how Councils could make better use of Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) funding, money raised from development, to improve our roads. Thank you to the @AIA_Asphalt, the Institute of Highway Engineers and everyone involved in preparing the report.

"We must learn from our mistakes, win back trust and make people feel good about our party again." @KemiBadenoch is right to speak of trust. Trust is earned and this means winning the trust of the millions who have gone to Reform. This is exactly what @bluecollartory_ discussed last night with @EstherMcVey1 @MPIainDS @_lewiscocking @Lugey6 @ClarkVasey We can win back their trust.

Andy Burnham has set out a socialist vision for Britain which is straight from the 1970s. It will destroy jobs & hammer working people. His only route to achieving this is a divided right. To stop him can the Conservatives win back the trust of voters looking to Reform? Join @bluecollartory_ at conference with @EstherMcVey1 @MPIainDS @_lewiscocking @Lugey6 @ClarkVasey

All foreign criminals should be deported Many use human rights and asylum claims plus endless appeals to stay here - and many go on to commit further offences including murder and rape Our plan will end this and see them all deported

"Isn't it patronising? To tell people how to spend their own money?" @bbcnickrobinson asks shadow work and pensions secretary Helen Whately, as the Conservatives promise to prevent benefit claimants from spending their welfare payments on alcohol, cigarettes and gambling.

A strong country needs people to work and contribute. But Labour have made it easier to claim and harder to get a job.

When Labour say 'devolution', what they really mean is more politicians, higher taxes, and more interference in our lives. They'll let mayors put our taxes up, but never cut them. Taking more of people's money and calling it 'empowerment' is completely outrageous.

My deepest condolences and those of the Conservative Party to the family and friends of Ann Widdecombe. She was a formidable politician who was never afraid to speak her mind and fought hard for what she believed. Always true to herself, her politics were strongly guided by her faith and her values. Rest in Peace, Ann.

Really positive discussion on the priorities for Blue Collar Conservatism. Thank you to @MPIainDS, @JohnCooperDG, our co-founders @EstherMcVey1 & @ClarkVasey and our new Parliamentary Chairman @_lewiscocking for joining. More to come, but great to explore positive ways for @Conservatives to champion working people and support @KemiBadenoch securing a majority to deliver real change for working Britain.

This is a PHENOMENAL result for Douglas, @Conservatives and for the oil & gas sector. This election was a referendum on Gov’s oil & gas policy. Aberdeen has sent a massage could not be clearer… πŸ‘‰ Back the oil & gas sector. πŸ‘‰ Protect jobs. πŸ‘‰ Get Britain Drilling Again.

Many people are concerned about HMOs springing up near them without any notice or consultation. I've tabled a motion calling on the Government to strengthen the powers available to local councils and ensure residents can make their voice heard.
