Today, as I was driving home from Nairobi city, somewhere after Nakuru,
I met two beautiful ladies who waved me down.
I decided to stop and listen to them they were asking for a lift to Eldoret.
I agreed because they looked innocent and I normally don’t pick anyone up or stop for strangers.
They got into my car smiling, chatting away in vernacular koingoi kongoi and all that I didn’t mind.
On the way I received a call from a friend who is a strong WANTAM supporter and a critic of the regime.
As we traded WANTAM banter the ladies kept quiet.
When the conversation ended I was almost at a place called Chirchir.
Immediately after I ended the call, the ladies demanded to be dropped off abruptly,
Saying, “We didn’t know you were WANTAM we thought you were TWOTAM.”
I told them “No me I am WANTAM.” They demanded I drop them
At a bodaboda stage where there were more than ten guys.
The moment I dropped them off, they shouted “Uyo ni wa WANTAM!”
The guys reacted quickly, saying, “What is he doing here?”
Then I saw one of the men pick up a stone and face me.
I had to drive off instantly at high speed to avoid being stoned.
That’s where I learned that this is a place where you can’t say anything about President Ruto.
