Kenyans are struggling with a crushing cost of living, skyrocketing fuel prices, unaffordable food, unemployment, high taxes, crippling rent, expensive healthcare, school fees, mounting debts and stagnant wages.
We face corruption, poor public services, insecurity, abductions, arbitrary arrests and police brutality. Young people are struggling to find jobs, businesses are closing, and families are struggling to survive.
At a time when millions are fighting for basic necessities, a high profile football spectacle feels out of touch with the reality ordinary Kenyans face.
This is a distraction from the suffering millions of Kenyans.
