Corruption and the mismanagement of our national wealth and resources have undermined investor confidence and held back opportunities for our country. Many potential investors are reluctant to commit their capital to a system they believe is corrupt, opaque, or indifferent to their interests. Kenyans living in Dallas, Texas, have shared with me their desire to invest in Kenya. Yet persistent reports of embezzlement and bribery have left them hesitant to navigate a system in which they fear approvals may depend on engaging corrupt officials. My message to the diaspora is clear: within the next 317 days, the new administration will take decisive steps to confront bribery, strengthen accountability, and end the mismanagement of public resources. We will work to build a transparent, predictable, and investor-friendly environment, one that welcomes serious partners, supports enterprise, and creates meaningful employment for our young people. We are committed to working hand in hand with Kenyans abroad and international investors to build a more prosperous and equitable Kenya.

Kenyans living and working in Dallas, Texas, share the concerns of Kenyans at home and across the diaspora about the state of our nation. They are troubled by what they see as the erosion of constitutional principles and a government too focused on public-relations gestures instead of delivering meaningful results. The numbers demand serious scrutiny. If, as reported, about KSh 75 of every KSh 100 in tax revenue goes toward debt servicing, we must ask what that means for the services and development Kenyans expect. And when debt repayments exceed revenue collected, the country cannot afford to look away. These figures call for transparency, accountability and an honest national conversation. Kenyans in Dallas are asking a simple but important question: When will we come together to confront the hard choices facing our country and agree on a clear direction? It was a privilege to meet and engage with the Diaspora Caucus in Dallas, Texas, hear their views and discuss how their experience and expertise can contribute to building a better Kenya. Their commitment to our country is a reminder that the diaspora is not on the sidelines; it is an important partner in Kenya’s future. My commitment to the diaspora community remains steadfast. The delegates will play a critical role in strengthening the party’s presence at the grassroots, engaging communities, articulating the party’s agenda, and ensuring that the voices and aspirations of ordinary citizens are represented within the party.
