People will legit check up on you just to compare their life to yours, lmao I promise you people are strange.
A lot of people suck at optimism because it requires creativity. Negativity doesn't demand you challenge your assumptions, which is why it's the default. Finding the good asks more of you. You have to be creative enough to imagine and consider possibilities that aren't directly in front of you.

Good job, Black Americans of Georgia.
We all will be replaced by immigrants. They will be prioritized. They are the “working class.” They’re the target for “Medicare for all.” They’re the priority when it comes to “affordable housing.”
Georgia is about to turn into the next New York. But hey, “at least my governors name is Keisha” 🥴

A woman with a well-developed sense of self can afford to be curious about others + to care for others. She has somewhere to return when the encounter ends.

shoutout to all the harmful things i prevented by honoring myself in the moment. shoutout to all the hard times i haven’t seen because i spotted the pattern and chose differently. shoutout to the relationships i have not entered bc i saw writings on the wall and trusted them.
I don't just want somebody to enjoy the good times with. I want somebody who understands that life is going to LIFE, and we're both responsible for how we show up in it, the experience.
I want friendship, intimacy, teamwork, emotional safety, shared values, mutual respect and the ability to figure things out together.
Because being a life partner requires more than being somebody's preference, more than looking good & money. It requires partnership skills, being a good person in general, some sense of self & those skills are just as important as what you bring to the table financially.
*sigh* The older I get, the more I simply just want a life partner. Someone to build with and experience life with.
We all have our own personal trials, tribulations, problems and responsibilities. It's life & therefore, it's truly a blessing to have someone to navigate life with.
It's deeper than a mf with money or a good job because that can change. Are you ambitious, intentional, a problem solver?
Providing and protecting is beyond just having the financial means to do so. It's the character and skills behind it.
Are you emotionally intelligent and self-aware? Can you communicate effectively? Can you hold yourself accountable? Can you take initiative? Can you make sound decisions? Can you lead without controlling? Can you be vulnerable without feeling weak? Can you recognize when your partner needs support instead of always needing to be the one supported?

People will do evil things to you because they’re angry and then when they’re no longer angry, expect you to be over it because they are lol. No?

Idk I feel like Mommy issues are so much more worse than daddy issues. Like you came out of that Lady ya Father a Nigga named Paul fr. Not to lessen the significance, but the person who carried you not doing right by you is I N S A N E
Because majority of people with kids don’t know how to balance or care to try and balance other relationships outside of them being a parent(something most already find draining, too much) & just expect the person their dating to settle, compromise, bend to them and whatever they have available after all that or be a distraction from it etc..

At the end of the day you can’t want love, companionship, partner etc and not make time, sacrifice, compromise etc 1. as you would expect to be done for you and 2. things that come with a relationship.. so if you know you don’t have the capacity, can’t or don’t want to creat the capacity to actually date, find a partner find joy in that.. don’t make other ppl feel bad, try to make them settle tho.

No matter how progressive a Muslim man is, once I see his wife in hijab, I immediately disbelieve him. This here being the case in point.
Glad he won on that healthcare level but... 🌚
The state with some of the highest eviction rates for Black women. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Black people are going to "yes ma'am", themselves into a permanent underclass.
