What was the best thing you did for your mental health during the darkest period of your life?

Not every loss is a loss.
Not every delay is a denial.
Sometimes life is simply redirecting you. ✨

Street gold. Steam rising. Istanbul in every glance.🎗️
Elif __My Al Character 🕊️ 🍁
A young woman with long wavy golden-auburn hair, light eyes, faint freckles, and a soft smile, sitting at an outdoor cafe. She wears a beige leather jacket over a red patterned silk scarf and a delicate gold necklace. She holds a traditional tulip-shaped glass of Turkish tea on a small saucer, stirring with a tiny spoon. Brass cafe table in the foreground. Behind her: a narrow cobblestone street lined with colorful historic buildings, hanging textiles, and Galata Tower rising in the warm late-afternoon light. Photorealistic, cinematic, high detail.

My ex-husband called me today and said, “I’m honestly struggling right now.”
He had lost his job a few weeks ago and already burned through most of his savings trying to keep up with rent and bills.
I could hear how frustrated he was.
And I thought about all the times he had shown up for me and our children.
Even after the marriage ended, he never stopped being a good father.
School fees. Doctor’s appointments.
The things the children needed. If they called him, he answered.
So I asked him, “How much do you need to get through the next few months?”
He started listing the bills one by one.

It is so exhausting trying to be yourself when you work for somebody else, as corporate survival basically forces you to put on a fake character every single day

A narcissist will leave you and take nothing on the way out except your ability to believe that you deserve good things. That is the one thing that takes the longest to get back. 🧵

The wise have one business that leads to all others, clarity: he stays silent, retire to his quiet place, avoid the noise, all these processes give him the clarity of determination to speak or keep silence.

Nothing hurts quite like realizing someone you called a friend was never genuinely your friend.

Growing up feeling like nobody has ever been attracted to you can quietly destroy the way you see yourself. You start believing that being genuinely desired is something that happens to other people, not you. So when someone compliments you, your first instinct is to doubt it, question it, or assume they’re just being nice.

Not every friend has to be your best friend. Some people are meant for workouts, some for weekend plans, some for random laughs and everyday conversations. Once you stop expecting every friendship to become something deeper, you stop feeling disappointed. Keep your inner world for the few people who have truly earned access to it.
