Treating Wizards as morally distinct from Hasbro isn’t a principled line, it’s a comfort one. Wizards is how Hasbro monetizes you. Carving it out doesn’t apply pressure, it preserves the behavior.

Hasbro knows Magic players are locked in by sunk costs/community. That’s why outrage is cheap, sales are safe, and “moral lines” go away when quitting is the price asked from the enfranchised.

There's one thing I'd like to add to this discourse. The target audience and consumer base of magic the gathering is not magic players. It's scalpers and other middlemen. Magic players are the *product*. Internalize this and everything Hasbro is doing will make sense.

For those that are wondering. I believe that LSS mentioned at GAMA that every card in the new Kayo CC precon will come in playsets. Players won’t need to buy multiple to fill playsets.

“FAB is a numbers game. Each card has value for offense and defense, get the most every turn and you’ll win more than you’ll lose.” This is the best advice I was given when new to FAB. I would still pass it down to any new player. It sounds basic but it’s very true.

If the leaks for OGL 1.1 seem ridiculous to you, remember it is written by people who thought the OGL was evolving document they could just update to not be an OGL at all, and the biggest 3rd parties would just sign it. Expecting it to be legal masterpiece was never an option.
