I agree it was shared possession, but FSU doesnt win with that call. Needed a two point conversion just to get to a third OT, and was stopped on two prior 4th and shorts near the goalline.
Miami is once again gifted a win in the ACC.
Not one but two touchdowns are overturned. AFTER the second one, that ended the game, the head official shakes Michael Irvin’s hand.
Pathetic @theACC
Ohio St would be in the midst of a historic run if it had a good QB instead of Sayin the last two years.
The Big 12 isnt known for great academic institutions, but the naivete of its fans is truely remarkable.
The “16-24th ranked SEC/Big Ten teams” that are going to get in over Big 12/ACC teams are a MYTH
In 2024 the Big 12 would have had 4 teams in. In order for Colorado(9-3) to be kicked out they would have had to be jumped by 2 of Texas A&M(8-4), Florida(7-5), Michigan(7-5), Iowa (8-4), or Minnesota(7-5). UNLV(10-2), Syracuse(9-3), Army(10-1), and Memphis(10-2) were all ranked and none of those teams were.
In 2025 the Big 12 would have had 5 teams in. In order for Houston(9-3) to be kicked out they would have had to be jumped by 3 of LSU(7-5), Mizzou(8-4), Minnesota(7-5), Nebraska(7-5), or Penn St(6-6). Tulane(10-2), Georgia Tech(9-3), and North Texas(11-1) were all ranked and none of those teams were.
If favorites win out this season, the Big 12 will have 3 locked in. Oklahoma St(9-3) and Arizona(9-3) will be fighting with Oklahoma(7-5), Nebraska(7-5), Kentucky(8-4), Wisconsin(8-4), and Northwestern(8-4) for the final 5 spots.
And another point. Those 24/25 seasons were 8 game SEC schedules. Moving forward that league will have 8 more losses to distribute. Same for the ACC. Those losses won’t be going to 12-0 Georgia and 11-1 Alabama. They’ll be turning 7-5 Mississippi St into 6-6 and 8-4 Tennessee into 7-5. Plus chickenshit teams like Nebraska, Penn St, and USC won’t be allowed to schedule 3 pushover non conference games. That’s more losses to distribute among teams in the range fringe Big 12 playoff teams will be competing against.
You people are scared of a boogeyman that doesn’t exist.
Believing that this type of nonsense will stop now that there are 24 and the committee is under even less scrutiny is utterly insane. Like legit believing in Santa Clause.
This argument misses the point.
Even if the Pop Tarts Bowl becomes far more interesting, that increase isnt remotely close to being worth the cost: giving up a meaningful regular season.

I'll die on this hill. Sports are about crowning a true champion. Playoff systems that exist in American pro sports are dumb. You play a long grueling season and if you're slightly above average you get to play in a new long grueling post season that is virtually unrelated to the regular season and the team that gets hot wins.
March Madness early rounds are my favorite week of the year, but that doesn't mean it's a fair or meaningful way to choose a champion.
European domestic soccer leagues crown a true champion. No playoffs. 1st place wins. Is that good for business? No. But its a true unquestioned champion.
The BCS was the next best thing. The 4 team playoff still worked. Out of 138 teams you can find 4 elite teams and because they haven't played similar schedules it makes sense that you may not be able to prove who was the best 1 or 2 based on body of work.
At 12 you started to lose me. Yes I'm aware that means Miami wouldn't have even be in the conversation last year if it were still a 4 team playoff.
24 teams is the end of the CFB regular season as we know it. Will it still be fine? Yes. Will it be even more satisfying to see your rival not even be able to make a 24-team playoff? Yes. But the magic will be gone. 9-3 will be the goal. Key players will sit out game 12 to rest for the playoffs, allowing a bubble team an easy win to get in. At least then maybe we can get some conference collusion conspiracy arguments.
Teams that may have been dynasties in the past could have Buffalo Bills-type runs where they just can't get it done in the playoffs.
In the end, I'd rather see a potentially deserving team left out, than an 8-4 team that shouldn't sniff the playoffs get hot and make a run.
I'm not going anywhere, I'll still probably watch just as much, and I'm sure the playoff will be entertaining. But we'll lose so much urgency, joy and heartbreak in the cheapening of the regular season.
In fairness to fans, live events have been too expensive. Got worse when they eliminated paper tickets and has gotten even worse since.
This is no way to sugarcoat this..
This is an absolute embarrassing showing by the residents of St Pete/Tampa tonight.
Your team is a group of overachievers and you have thousands of empty seats.
Absolutely pathetic!

Two calmly providing insight can be interesting (i.e. Barkley & Smith, Herbstreit & Corso). 4-5 borderline yelling/fake-laughing for 20 seconds at a time is never interesting.
Why the latter has become the default is a mystery.
FSU offense could be so good if a little less sloppy and lazy. After a ton of drops, the game ends on RB causally running out short of 4th down.
If theyre going to stop realignment, why now? Doing this 20 years ago would've helped. Does no good now and screws a few teams for no benefit.
As bad as boomers are, this generation of parents may be worse. So selfish that the idea of taking care of themselves as adults without even more help from their parents is incomprehensible.
"I know you spent 20 years revolving your life around me, accounted for all my needs, put me through college etc., but what do you mean youre not going to give me money and days of free labor every week not that youre old? That's so selfish!"
Delusional.
Adults demanding free chils care then respond to criticism with "families love and care for each other", which is both disingenuous and ironic because demanding free child care and money from someone who doesn't want to give it is the opposite of loving and caring.
Mom and Dad, I know you took care of me for decades, but if you wont serve as my free babysitter, go fuck yourself and die alone.

I don’t mind changing clocks twice a year.
It’s a very minor inconvenience to avoid either a 9 o’clock sunrise in December or a 4 o’clock sunrise in June
