I'm setting out on a new adventure!! I'm so excited to see where this goes. I've fallen head over heels for the Pokemon IP and I decided to do something with that. Follow along if watching someone discover it for the first time is something you might enjoy.

The Magician's Nephew is fine, guys.
Dan Lin is out as film boss at Netflix.
Lin’s firing comes in the wake of Netflix making 1,000 pink-slips given their recent slow growth, and minimal overall viewership spike.

I have a spicy thing I could post but I’m burnt out of attracting morons. This. Just this. Don’t go see it. Don’t give them numbers. Are you pissed off about culture? Then stop supporting this crap.
Because I don’t want people in my home. That’s my private sanctuary. No, you can’t sit in my couch for hours so we can talk. I have things to do. Idk might be the weird one here, but anyone shows up at my house just to hang out you’re getting blocked. 😂
Can we PLEASE normalize just hanging out at each other’s houses again? Why does every friendship meetup need to be a whole production, a restaurant reservation, and a $150 bill? I just want to sit on your couch, drink something, and talk for hours.

I’ve told my own sons never to lead with the energy that they’ve been victimized by women. It’s repellent. Are you in charge of your experience or not? Are you a man or are you a boy? Do you have what it takes to lead a family or not? Oh no some women are bad. Go buy dinner and stop being a damn baby. Oh no she got dessert. Having the mindset that your wee heart must be protected from gold diggers is the worst vibe for attracting good women. Women are attracted to peaceful self assured generosity. My husband had me on a date once and saw a table with people eating that recently suffered a loss. He told the server to put their bill on us and say nothing. That’s the move. That man is a leader of women. I never brought a purse on a date. I brought a smile and positive attitude. He didn’t blink. He’s a damn man.

There isn’t any indication that money is the issue here. This isn’t exactly a rare post. Many men have talked about women asking to go on dinner dates and then blocking them on anything.
Men should be gentlemanly but a lot of “women” have set an awful precedent.
It’s called ✨righteous indignation✨ It still shocks me to this day that people forget that God is still the God of the Old Testament. Like the same God that called the little children to Him was the same God who told Joshua to wipe out entire villages.

In a world where the grandson of Tolkien signed off on Rings of Power, this really don’t mean shit to me.

If AI can churn out the objectively superior covers on the right, there is no reason we should be forced to endure the insanity on the left.
You should absolutely judge a book by its cover.
Of course they’re selling out to the woke agenda. They’re no different than Tolkien’s descendants. Doesn’t mean they’re not all complete disgraces to their family names.
C.S. Lewis’ family is backing Greta Gerwig’s vision for Narnia 🦁
The families of Lewis’ stepsons have praised the filmmaker’s passion for the fantasy series after regular conversations and a visit to the London set of Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew. With a star-studded cast including Meryl Streep as Aslan and Emma Mackey as the White Witch, Gerwig is bringing the beloved world to the big screen for the first time with this particular story.
Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew arrives in IMAX and theaters February 12, 2027, before streaming on Netflix April 2.

The wedding industry is a scam. Whether this is true or not I’ve heard one too many stories like this. I’m so glad we eloped.
So a woman booked a full-face makeup appointment for $200 and went to her wedding. Now the makeup artist is upset because she normally charges brides $800 for the SAME makeup.
Since when do we get mad because somebody didn’t pay a wedding markup? The makeup didn’t take any longer just because she was a bride! 😂

And remember, Jadis could not use magic in our world and everyone thought she was an hysterical lunatic because she was waving around trying to use her magic.
In Greta Gerwig’s Narnia, Jadis uses magic to shatter the Eagle & Child. This is the real Oxford pub where Lewis, Tolkien, and the Inklings actually met and where the Narnia books were shaped. There is no narrative reason for it to appear. Its inclusion isn’t an accident, but a deliberate choice.
In an adaptation already altering the source’s theology and metaphysics, the destruction of the physical site where those ideas were forged functions as a symbolic act: the origin point of the story is targeted and erased by the very antagonist the books exist to defeat. That is the definition of desecration, not homage.

It was not an accident that this scene made it into the trailer for The Magician's Nephew. The filmmakers were proud of blowing up this bit of C.S. Lewis lore.
They threw it in our faces and now are surprised that they didn't get away with it.

Though by now I should have learned to start ignoring some comments, it bothers me that many still can't understand - and don't bother to do a little research before they talk - that Aslan is a suppositional incarnation of Christ.
'If Aslan represented the immaterial Deity, he would be an allegorical figure. In reality however, he is an invention giving an imaginary answer to the question, "What might Christ become like if there really were a world like Narnia and He chose to be incarnate and die and rise again in that world as He actually has done in ours?" This is not allegory at all.' (C. S. Lewis)
'Since Narnia is a world of Talking Beasts, I thought He [Christ] would become a Talking Beast there, as He became a man here. I pictured Him becoming a lion there because (a) the lion is supposed to be the king of beasts; (b) Christ is called "The Lion of Judah" in the Bible; (c) I'd been having strange dreams about lions when I began writing the work.' (C. S. Lewis)
That The Chronicles of Narnia are Christian stories is beyond doubt. But what's often misunderstood as well is the role other mythologies play there, since Lewis surely did draw from them. Lewis and Tolkien viewed myths outside the Christian tradition as the truth of God reflected through splintered fragments, i.e. revealed only partially.
I particularly like Jem Bloomfield's analysis of this topic in Paths in the Snow, when he considers Mr Tumnus, claiming he echoes and evokes Kenneth Grahame's Piper at the Gates of Dawn - in his considerably pantheistic Wind in the Willows - but to a wholly different purpose. Of course, with Tumnus Lewis doesn't reject or deride other mythologies, but he does displace those mythologies to 'the edge of Narnia' (Bloomfield). Like pagan Virgil in The Divine Comedy leads Catholic Dante upwards, Tumnus is, in a way, Lucy's first guide ('Lucy,' whose origins can be traced to Latin: 'lux' - 'light').
Unlike what happens in Wind in the Willows with the Piper/Pan, Tumnus doesn't occupy a central, mystical role in Narnia, he 'is not the end of the quest, but merely the beginning of it.' 'We can read Tumnus as a figure who emphasises the attractions and the possibilities of the woods and the fields, but who suggests that they are not an end in themselves. He is not the divinity himself, but rather the piper at the gates of Narnia' (Bloomfield), while Aslan is neither defined nor contained by his physical surroundings, which he, with his Father, created.

It's not a religious allegory. C.S. Lewis said so himself. Actually look it up and stop being dense.
The books borrow myths from more than just christianity.
When he was writing the books he didn't set out to write a christian story.
A woman is going to sound tots masculine guys, don't worry! Because we cast a woman to sound like a man. Because this masculine & male character needs a woman to sound like a man. But the woman who's voicing him absolutely sounds like a man. All good here! Nothing to worry about!
Although Meryl Streep will voice Aslan in Greta Gerwig's upcoming Narnia adaptation, multiple sources tell us that the performance is distinctly masculine.
Earlier this week, Relevant Magazine reported on Aslan's voice in its coverage of the recent IMAX sneak preview event. A source described as someone "involved with the film who has seen it and asked not to be named" told the magazine that Aslan doesn't sound like Streep and has not been gender-swapped.
NarniaWeb can confirm those claims and have also received multiple independent reports indicating Streep will give Aslan a deep, gravelly sounding voice.
