As we all look back at #LiveAid40, I would like to tell the story of my experience as a 20yo attending the Wembley show on 13 July 1985. These are never-before seen photos, taken on my Canon A1 with a 50mm lens from my position centre front in the crowd 🧵

Since a lot of people are confused about what this is, every telescope here is owned by a person. Each person can log in remotely to use their telescope to capture photos of space from our dark skies!
This is what I’ve been up to the last year! Building the largest remote observatory in the world (By quantity of scopes)

Open this photo up and look for the small, white dot just left of centre. It looks like Venus, shining brightly in the twilight sky. But it's us. It's Earth. From Mars.

This week marks an important milestone for us with the launch of The Callisto Protocol for the PS5 Pro. We’ve poured our hearts into creating what we hope is a truly special experience. Back in 2022, with the original release of The Callisto Protocol, one of our goals was to work towards blurring the line between film and real-time gameplay, utilizing technologies and lighting fidelity that, until recently, were exclusive to the film industry. This included not only the visual fidelity of the cutscenes but, more importantly, the visual fidelity within dynamic gameplay—which takes place in high-density environments illuminated by dozens of physically accurate lights, most of which feature ray-traced shadows, transmission, and reflections. With the PS5 Pro, we’ve aimed to take this vision further—working to deliver this cinematic quality alongside smoother frame rates and enhanced image fidelity through high-resolution rendering. Behind this achievement are not only exceptional developers but also incredible individuals with the biggest and most brave hearts—colleagues and now friends who came together to overcome challenges that once seemed almost impossible. I’m incredibly proud of what this dream team has accomplished. It is a true honor to share this journey with all of you. @_Aborres @_atsushi_ @CrazyMoai @edumarting @EdwardJohnCA @ioennirdev @JGavazza @miguel_oenp @MiguelRodRic @minkzn. And many others that do not have X accounts. #TheCallistoProtocol #PS5Pro
Experience The Callisto Protocol like never before with the power of PlayStation 5 Pro. Fight out of Black Iron Prison in breathtaking 8K at 30 FPS or 4K at 60 FPS, both with full ray tracing. Now available on PS5 Pro! #TheCallistoProtocol #PS5Pro

BUCKLE UP!! AI agents are capable of cybercrime! 🤯 I just witnessed an agent sign into gmail, code ransomware, compress it into a zip file, write a phishing email, attach the payload, and successfully deliver it to the target 🙀 Claude designed the ransomware to: - systematically encrypt user files - demand cryptocurrency payment for decryption - attempt to contact a command & control server - specifically targets user data while avoiding system files cybersecurity is about to get WILD...stay frosty out there frens 🫡 DISCLAIMER: this was done in a controlled environment; do NOT try this at home!

Another delivery from privatisation. Today 1st class stamp price rises by 30p. Royal Mail hasn't met delivery targets. 1st class stamp £1.65; 2nd class 85p. At privatisation in 2013: 1st class 60p; 2nd class 50p Benefit of privatisation - Higher prices for worst service.

Reminded of the time when a CS prof got his bike stolen and tried to explain to his local PD that they didn't have to watch all 12 hours of security footage, they could use binary search to pinpoint the theft in a few minutes and they all thought he was a total crankcase
Just found out that, unless you know exactly the half hour when a theft occurs, it’s effectively legal

At the height of One Million Checkboxes's popularity I thought I'd been hacked. A few hours later I was tearing up, extraordinarily proud of some brilliant teens. A thread about my favorite story from running OMCB....
