60,000 Christians murdered in an hour in Congo. Killings has been going on in Nigeria and other parts of Africa and the world is silent
Just a few months ago, Islamic terrorists massacred an entire Christian community in Congo. Over 60 people slaughtered in an hour. Thousands of Christians are slaughtered in Congo and the world remains silent. Thousands more Christians are slaughtered in Nigeria, Ethiopia and other parts of North and Central Africa, and the media say nothing. The Pope continues to tell the world how Muslims are your friends and brothers while priests and community leaders cry over rivers of blood those “friends and brothers” leave in their path to wiping out non Muslims from existence. We’re living in dark times. Possibly the darkest in memory. Because it isn’t just that these atrocities are happening in such frequency, but that half the non Muslim world seems to defend those perpetrating the mass killings.

The structure of life has shifted. Once seen through an optimistic lens with light at the end of the tunnel, it now seems like an unaffordable subscription with no end date. We used to dislike politicians, now we don’t trust them. We don’t trust anything anymore because it has proven unworthy of our trust. To quote Star Wars, there has been a shift in the Force, and everyone knows and feels it deeply. People fear the future. I personally feel like we are facing a great depression.

As a GP practice we lost a third of Nursing home residents in the first wave due to the decisions made by leaders to discharge infected patients to homes It’s hugely concerning that this was done without mitigation of the risks #BREATHTAKING

I’ve been a qualified nurse for 30+ years. NHS is failing massively as incapable individuals are running services with no adequate experience, they fail and are just promoted further either moved on to other trusts or within the same. It’s insane. #NHSdisaster

90% of England’s water industry is foreign owned. The result has been low investment, high customer bills, raw sewage in rivers, over 1,200 criminal convictions, and harms to nature, health and national security. Public ownership is needed. Watch the Minister's reply.

Edwards-Deming warned about targets: When you manage people by numbers, they learn to hit the numbers. Can get very good at it, find creative ways to hit those targets. But not necessarily to improve the system. Targets can encourage gaming, hide problems and shift attention away from quality. The danger? The dashboard looks better while the system gets worse. We should be improving the system rather than managing the numbers.
They can, however, help 'game' the target and, whilst the target is set at 78%, means it is now possible to 'meet 'the target and create the illusion of improvement, whilst leaving the most vulnerable patients (to whom the target matters) languishing in the dept for hours/ days

Well after today’s announcement from the Bank of England, there is something very, very, very wrong in the system. So … let me get this straight: * British Gas made a profit of £1.3bn between January & June * BP announced profits of £6.95 billion between April and June alone * Shell has profited by £9.4bn in a year The MEN at the top: * John Pettigrew, boss of National Grid received £6.5m bonus on top of his salary * Chris O’Shea, chief executive of British Gas owner Centrica was paid almost £2m last year in salary and benefits * Centrica's non-executive directors were paid almost £1m * Scottish Power's CEO Keith Anderson is on £1.15m. * E.On boss Michael Lewis is on £1m * EDF's Simone Rossi is also on £1m * And their top execs enjoyed a share of £4.65m * Peter Simpson of Anglian Water earned a £1.3m pay package * Welsh Water bosses awarded themselves bonuses of over £930,000 * Severn Trent bosses awarded themselves bonuses of £5.56m * Thames Water's Sarah Bentley, received a £727,000 bonus on top of her £2m annual salary Meanwhile there are... * People who haven't had breakfast and/or lunch TODAY, because they can't afford it. * People using FoodBanks because food is becoming more of a luxury than a necessity. * Children celebrating a birthday without presents. * Parents worrying about new school uniforms - and some schools enforcing rules which are not cost-effective. * People who can't get to work because they can't afford to put petrol in their cars/pay for public transport anymore. * People who are working so much they're making themselves ill, and they STILL CAN'T AFFORD to pay their bills. * People who have been given fines by these same energy/water companies because they couldn't afford to pay their bills in the first place - increasing their debt. * Customers being told to do STAR JUMPS TO KEEP WARM for crying out loud! * Hose pipe bans when gallons of water leak away everyday. * Elderly people NOT DRINKING because they're worried about running out of water!!! All this and energy prices are set to rise up to 75% in October... THIS IS MADNESS!.. I'm all for supporting profits … I'm not for supporting greed at the cost of lives of others. Something needs to change. Why is customers' money being used to make life more comfortable for those who are making life more intolerable for the rest of us? I actually don't understand how the energy companies are allowed to get away with this and why the government aren't stopping them instead of handing out money.....

I would like to thank all those who have prayed for me in recent days. I wish to express my particular gratitude to the doctors, nurses and all the staff of the Gemelli Hospital. This experience has made me feel particularly close to all those who are living with illness or infirmity. Now that I have overcome this delicate phase I will gradually resume my activities, always with God’s help and your prayers.

Two years ago today, we exposed huge amounts of illegal sewage dumping in Windermere. And still, the Environment Agency has done nothing about it. @WindrushWasp
🚨 Breaking News 🚨 Save Windermere has once again been involved in exposing United Utilities exploitation of Windermere. Today the BBC reported that in the last 3 years, United Utilities has ILLEGALLY dumped 143,000,000 litres of untreated sewage directly into Windermere from just one of their sites — that’s thethe equivalent of 23 million toilet flushes, 1,600 double-decker buses, or enough to fill Big Ben 30 times! 💩 According to the BBC, United Utilities claims they reported these incidents at Glebe Road Pumping Station as soon as they were aware, which suggests they simply didn’t know about the instances of illegality from 2021 to September 2023, despite it being their statutory obligation to show permit compliance. The BBC estimates an additional 24 incidents that weren’t reported at the time could have cost the company £2.5 million through lower rewards or greater penalties. You might be thinking, where’s the Environment Agency? Isn’t this their job? Well, once again, they’ve turned a blind eye. They’ve failed to ask for the data, failed to hold United Utilities accountable and failed to protect Windermere from this predatory behaviour. We need your help to stop this 🫵 👊 Tag @Keir_Starmer

👊 Share the video with the hashtag #savewindermere Let’s try and get this trending. Keir Starmer has often spoken about his love for the Lake District. Now it’s time for him to put his money where his mouth is and end sewage pollution in Windermere once and for all. Windermere is a symbol of our cultural heritage, a key driver of the local and national economy, and a sanctuary for rare and protected wildlife. This is a national and international disgrace, one of the country’s greatest natural treasures is being exploited by the multi-billion pound private water company. It’s time for Westminster to act. @Keir_Starmer , it’s time to stop the sewage to Save Windermere. Oh why oh why can a private provider only charge x3 average nhs costs.... Maybe its because they dont cover emergency, acute admissions, icu, transplant, maternity and select solely low risk elective & outpatient care - deferring to nhs for everything else. At least do some basic – at Edinburgh, Scotland
