So, here's a fascinating stat. Germany had record BEV sales in Q2 2026 and has the third largest EV fleet in the world that can save it 16 million barrels of oil annually... ...all that at just 8.3 TWh of annual electricity consumption, which is 1.6% of Germany's demand!

Here's how grid-scale batteries and pumped hydro charged over the past week… It's interesting to see the patterns throughout the week. There's a lot of background activity as well as periodic moments where the entire fleet appears to store energy at the same time. Pumped hydro is shown in purple, with the large Dinorwig asset clearly visible in North Wales. This is only showing import (charge) behaviour as the assets store energy from the grid, it doesn't show the export (discharge) that puts energy back into the grid. The triple lock sabotaged by Labour. Why? So that they could give pensioners throughout this UK a lesser pension in order to pay for a care system in England. So you, Scots, Welsh and N. Irish pensioners won't see you pension go up as much to pay for an English care system
