Pope Francis was the rare leader who made us want to be better people. Benjamin Netanyahu’s presentation in the House Chamber today was by far the worst presentation of any foreign dignitary invited and honored with the privilege of addressing the Congress of the United States.
Many of us who love Israel spent time today listening to Israeli citizens whose families have suffered in the wake of the October 7th Hamas terror attack and kidnappings.
These families are asking for a ceasefire deal that will bring the hostages home – and we hope the Prime Minister would spend his time achieving that goal.

Some of you seem to be under the misperception that if Biden were to drop out, it would be a smooth, seamless, glide path to Harris picking a VP candidate, and then a victory in November.
Let me share some reality with you.
First of all, there is no precedent for a presidential candidate dropping out so late. And I remind you we are Democrats - we don't get in line, we navel gaze and argue. Reporting is that many in the donor class do not want Harris. There would more likely be a contested convention. Great for media ratings. Will this ensure we end up with a candidate that can win in November after all the infighting over the next month? That is uncertain.
I just want to prepare you all for what happens the next day. I think there is widespread naiveté, enhanced by our media who are frothing at the mouth for the "excitement" of a contested convention. This is not reality. It will be timultuous, ugly, personal, Democrats turning on Democrats and you know all the rest - a normal primary on steroids.
I am not saying we wouldn't win, I am saying many of you are naive to believe that Biden drops out and we ride into the sunset.
