Someone said that the Estonian word for night "öö" looks like two tiny owls sitting next to each other, and I can't stop thinking about that now. 🇪🇪🦉🦉

For the 13th year in a row, Estonia 🇪🇪 has topped the International Tax Competitiveness Index.
🎉 The 2026 rankings are in! How competitive is your country’s tax code? See how your country compares with our new interactive tool: hubs.ly/Q04BspXV0 The structure of a country’s tax code is a determining factor of its economic performance. A well-structured tax code is easy for taxpayers to comply with and can promote economic development while raising sufficient revenue for a government’s priorities. In contrast, poorly structured tax systems can be costly, distort economic decision-making, and harm domestic economies. The International Tax Competitiveness Index gives a comprehensive overview of how OECD countries’ tax codes compare, explains why certain tax codes stand out as good or bad models for reform, and provides important insight into how to think about tax policy.

European founders will continue to incorporate in the US if these EU Inc. reforms get stripped down and become meaningless.
Europe’s founders need a European standard to compete globally from day one. Europe’s leaders committed to delivering one. But their teams are negotiating away the very things that make it one. There is still time to change course if Europe's Heads of State step in now.

A sober view of post-Trump transatlantic relations
At the @WarsawForum, I asked Democratic Congressman Jim Himes what would change and what would remain the same in US-Europe relations with a new Democratic Administration? Himes provided a pretty clear and realistic overview. #WSF2026

Starlink connectivity at speeds of up to 160 km/h is being restored. Removing Starshield’s speed limit entirely is now critical for Ukraine’s defense. Thank you, @elonmusk. We hope for your continued support.

It bears repeating: Our war on Iran is driving up global diesel prices, not Ukraine defending itself against Russia’s invasion.

Sometimes I hear people say we don't need OPT because we have the O-1. But that's not how America recruits superstar talent in real life. A new report from @CSETGeorgetown looks at how our STEM prize winners (Nobel, Lasker, ACM AM Turing, MIT Innovators Under 35) come to America and the student pipeline is key. Two thirds first came to the United States as students! All these people could get an O-1 today, but would they be here if they had to get one right when they graduated? A diesel export ban will not help lower diesel prices in the most populated regions of the US due to how the supply chain works.
Replying to @APIenergy
The Gulf Coast holds 54% of U.S. refining capacity and makes more fuel than it uses. The East Coast relies partly on imports. Banning exports would trap surplus diesel in one region while tightening the global market that supplies another.

One of the most important actions we can take for deterrence is for the Pentagon to follow President Trump’s orders to return the 5,000 troops back to Poland and the Baltics. This is deterrence. The Pentagon has dragged its feet for 3 months on this.

I really don't understand the fear over this. Seems like Draghi set up a fairly innocuous think tank, but people are acting like it's some kind of shadow EU.
