For two strong exceptions to the “almost” in this, please follow @WayToWinAF and @HITStrat, two groups who absolutely work to understand Black men. (And everyone else)
Hundreds of thousands of Black men are sitting out elections in Ohio. Almost no one is asking them why. ms.now/news/ohio-black-men-v…

I went to work for James Talarico about a year ago and last night people got to see exactly why! Big Rocha hat tip to his amazing team! Great job last night. We are gonna win Texas and we still need you to donate and knock doors if you can.
The good news is that more Americans are angry about this than is getting through to the Dem establishment. We're trying to close that research gap, but bottom line: these are bullies. They're not used to getting punched in the nose. If Dems punch back, they're going to win.
Establishment Dem operatives might wish all this stuff would just go away, but it's not going to. Regardless of the politics, attacks on trans people are real kids lives, and immigrants and activists are getting summarily executed or thrown into concentration camps.
Asserting positive values generally works. Trans people, immigrants, podcasters - whoever the right is blaming this week - all deserve dignity, safety and respect. Then you can start suggesting voters ask cui bono. Who benefits from this fear and division?
We gave this a more thorough listen. It's really good and thoughtful and you should listen too. Just want to add a few quick thoughts. First, our approach to cultural issues is characterized as pivoting or changing the subject. But it's really not.
NEW @KnowYrEnemyPod out this morning! We're joined by the great @daveweigel to talk about the midterms, the first when the economy sucks and people are blaming Trump—all while the GOP becomes ever more culturally extreme. It's a good one, please listen!

And just to be clear, @daveweigel did a generally entirely solid job presenting our side of this discussion. Just wanted to clarify that one bit.
👋🏽 so good to hear this. The Way staff is full of KYE fans since the Peter Thiel ep; we hadn't listened yet but a friend posted about it on FB and tipped us off. Thank you for the thoughtful discussion and for everything you all are doing!

There are so many opportunities for Dems. For some examples of how our strategic approach works in practice, see this fresh campaign data on Charting the Way Forward. Thank you, and we look forward to continuing the discussion.

Voters everywhere, including in this very challenging terrain, already agree with us! We're not sure there's a more encouraging data point for leftists who want a diverse coalition for change than this finding from our recent poll.

When framed as a choice, voters across key segments overwhelmingly picked a left leaning, inclusive populist worldview over the right's dark, obsessive and weird use of marginalized communities to generate a sense of threat and fear. Even in this terrain it's 59 to 37. +22!
We also believe there's a resonant narrative with voters around the larger context of why right wing and MAGA candidates and campaigns are so obsessed with this issue, to the tune of $100s of millions in ad spending. This approach failed in 2025. We believe it will fail again.
We're still listening and want to get the full context, but just to be clear: our position on defending transgender Americans is not to pivot away. Democrats can and should assert the intrinsic divinity and rights of trans people... and for kids to play sports with their friends.
A couple fun mentions of us in this episode. Welcome Enemy Knowers! We are the only left of center operation actively engaging in research and media to counter the establishment group chats and forge big coalitions without triangulation.

More people need to pay attention to and invest in Mississippi this cycle. It’s winnable.

Thank you for reading, and please, as always, share vigorously!
And what we've found is that if Dems choose to make a strong, clear case to voters, they can start to turn back the tactics of division, threat and fear that Republicans, MAGA and the right use to stop forward progress... even in the South and Southwest. 🏜️🏝️🇺🇸🏳️🌈🗽
While other groups are doing research in the abstract, writing books and having parties, we're on the front lines of expansion terrain, working with activists, and listening to, engaging, persuading and mobilizing voters.
