For the lack of feedback in the rejections of the EF I also find this strange. All the people I know who got rejected all have the same complaint. Zero feedback. That's just not good.

And we need to make sure that the übercontributors can be there with us at important gatherings. I will bring this up at @EthMagicians. The community should form some kind of ongoing process to make it a lot easier for creators like Loredana to travel and participate.

It doesn't even have to be decentralized, a spreadsheet and RAND() would work just fine with basic anti-Sybil (ip+email/payment address or stake/reserve if there's a need to get fancy)

Yepp. A little bit trolling from community is appropriate. I would expect more transparence about constraints and decision made by @EFDevcon about ticket sale for #devcon5. Can't solve problems arising? Go to community and explain it. There is enough brainpower outside of EF.

@EFDevcon onchain proposal #1422: staked lottery. Signup at leisure. At wave time winners get converted to tickets others refunded. Random oracle and sybil resistance are solvable. Fixed price, fair and no gas auctions.

How come @EFDevcon ticket sales still are not made via a NFA (non fungible asset h/t @sunnya97) contract that accepts ETH, DAI or similar? If you don't like the gas auction then add some other mechanism, still better than some backend crashing mysteriously
