"With good food you can build a big army and a good army and slaughter thousands of people. With healthy food you can improve eyesight. For what end? I'm asking. What is the end goal? What is it that society really wants? I don't think they know. They want things to remain as they are if they are doing well in that society. If they are not doing well, they want to see change. But if you ask them what kind of change do they want, "Well, I want a steady job for people." "You mean no more automation? What do you mean by steady jobs for people? That the coachmen always sit in the back of the coach and use horses? That the automobile coming in will travel faster and farther and do away with the horseshoes and all that sort of thing?" "Yes, that's what I mean." The future is always changing and always rendering certain professions obsolete. We no longer have many people who shoe horses except in the park where you ride horses. If you try to keep things as they are, then I would say you have no concern for the future." - Jacque Fresco TVP Teamspeak Q&A Seminar 2012-07-08 - Nothing Things @ 12:22 tinyurl.com/091742 The quote is included in the book, Do You Speak Future?
