Good point. An interview where we brainstorm architecture together on a whiteboard is useful. One where I sit back and watch you suffer while you try to write a bubble sort is never useful.

there's a big difference though between whiteboard exercises, which are about thinking through problems, design, breakdown of components etc. and writing code on a board.. the former is valuable (imo), the latter is dumb.
