We had some big policy discussions this week. When the Quad Foreign Ministers met last year they agreed on a renewed agenda to take the partnership forward in specific policy areas. The United States Studies Centre (@USSC) in Sydney hosted vital conversations to continue that work. Great to be part of these discussions with our partners at the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (@dfat), and representatives from India and Japan. Lively and productive conversation with policy and industry across critical minerals, supply chains, energy, emerging technology and security.

An honour to host Admiral (Retd) Lisa Franchetti for a fireside chat at the @USSC Women in the Alliance dinner. The 33rd US Chief of Naval Operations — the first woman to hold the role, former Commander of two carrier strike groups, Sixth Fleet, and more operational commands than I can fit into one post.
A timely and important conversation about leadership, our changing world, naval warfare, and everything in between.
Safe to say, we had plenty to talk about.

“Thus far in Trump’s second term, no Asian ally has managed to make inroads with the U.S. president comparable to Shinzo Abe’s,” writes Michael Green. “As a result, Asian leaders are missing the full benefits of American partnership.”
